Tea Party Patriots Action Applauds House Republicans for Defunding 87,000 IRS Employees
Atlanta, GA – Today, the U.S. House passed legislation that would defund the 87,000 IRS employees who were included in the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement: “We applaud the House Republicans who voted to repeal funding for the 87,000 new IRS positions created in the Democrats’ Orwellian-named ‘Inflation Reduction Act.’ House Republicans made defunding the IRS employees their first item of legislative business, and rightfully so. During President Obama's time in the White House, Tea Party Patriots and other conservative groups were targeted by the IRS as part of a deliberate strategy of harassment and intimidation. TPP and our members have very good reason to fear an expanded, emboldened IRS – once again answering to a Democrat President. Defunding the IRS will protect our pocketbooks, in addition to safeguarding our civil liberties.”
Tea Party Patriots Action Applauds House Passage of Rules Package
Atlanta, GA – Today, the U.S. House adopted the rules package that conservatives negotiated with Speaker McCarthy ahead of his election as Speaker. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement: “We applaud the House Republicans who voted for today’s rules package. This package would not have been possible without the 21 courageous Members of Congress who insisted that Speaker McCarthy’s promotion be tied to these vitally important reforms. These reforms include restoring the ‘motion to vacate’ rules that were in place before then-Speaker Pelosi changed them in 2019, a cap on spending, the end of the ‘Omnibus,’ and a Judiciary subcommittee that will focus on the ‘weaponization’ of the federal government, among many other things. These reforms will empower positive change over the course of the 118th Congress.”

Biden's visit to the southern border city of El Paso, Texas today comes after an announcement that the administration is looking at new immigration rules and punishments for illegal entry. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement: “With a wave of his magic wand and his first visit to the border, President Biden wants us to believe he’s a new man, with an administration newly committed to securing our border. We’re not fooled. His ‘new’ immigration policy is a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing. Abusing the parole law as he has just announced he will do is no solution to the problem, it merely hides it – and, in doing so, it makes it worse! This policy is merely another in a long line of illegal and unconstitutional executive branch encroachments that steal for the executive branch powers not authorized by either the Constitution or the Congress. Worse, even if we were to overlook that, it will make the problem worse, not better, for it will further incentivize migration to and across our border. “Since Biden took office two years ago, more than 5 million illegal immigrants have entered our country. More than 300,000 flooded our southern border just last month. Fentanyl overdoes is now the leading cause of death among Americans between the ages of 18 and 45. Biden and his administration have created an intolerable situation.“What we need instead is a policy that actually follows the Constitution and the law, secures our border, and acknowledges our sovereignty.”

The courageous 20 showed a commitment to America and the Constitution as they worked to change the Rules of the House of Representatives.“I look forward to watching as Speaker Kevin McCarthy keeps his commitment to adhere to the Rules, which the courageous 20 Members of Congress have said are the best House Rules in our lifetimes, and the other parts of the agreement he has made with the 20.“Some across America, and many inside the chamber, saw the process as uncomfortable. Transformative changes to the status quo are never an easy process. Tea Party Patriots Action Slams TSA’s “Outrageous” Extension of Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate to Enter U.S.
Atlanta, GA – Today, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) extended the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for foreign travelers. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement: “The TSA’s decision to extend the Covid-19 vaccine mandate is outrageous, whether you consider it economically, diplomatically, or as a matter of human rights. President Biden himself said the pandemic is over so the original justification for the mandate has lapsed. Pre-pandemic, international tourism generated close to $2 trillion in U.S. economic activity, so denying entry to unvaccinated foreign guests is denying us untold billions in revenue. And last but not least, as a matter of principle, no one should be forced to take a vaccine against their will, whether they’re an American or a foreign guest. The Biden Administration is once again engaging in a gross abuse of power to no benefit.”
Tea Party Patriots Action Urges Republicans to Honor Voters’ Wishes: Oppose One-Week CR and Full-Year Omnibus Bill, and Instead Support CR to Fund Government Into Next Congress
Atlanta, GA — On Tuesday night, top appropriators in Congress struck a deal on a government funding framework critical to finalizing a mammoth year-end spending package. Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama, the GOP’s lead negotiator, said, “If all goes well, we should be able to finish an omnibus appropriations package by December 23rd.” The current Continuing Resolution (CR) funding the government expires on December 16. The House could pass a week-long CR as soon as today to fund the government through December 23 to buy time until the one-year omnibus is ready for a vote. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement: "It is imperative that Republicans do not concede to the demands of Congressional Democrats in the fight over a government funding bill. Republicans need to hold firm — not for the sake of the party, but for the sake of respecting the voters’ will as expressed in last month’s elections. Congressional Democrats are prepared to throw the will of voters to the wayside so they can ram through their omnibus spending bill that continues their reckless spending spree as they fund the government for an entire year. This would completely undermine the wishes of American citizens, by stripping the duly elected incoming Congress from having a say in next year's government spending. TPPA Thanks GOP Senators Who Wrote Letter to McConnell Making That Demand Atlanta, GA – This week, more than a dozen Senators wrote a letter to Senate Republican Leader McConnell opposing a vote on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) unless Senators can vote on an amendment prohibiting the discharge of Armed Services members who refuse to receive the Covid-19 vaccination and ordering the reinstatement and back pay of those members who have already been discharged. Over 125,000 service members currently face discharge because of President Biden’s terrible Covid-19 vaccine requirement. Republicans are in for a tough two years as the country's many problems have only piled up under the leadership, or lack thereof, from Biden and Democrats. The crisis at the southern border has grown to disastrous proportions while Democrats have stood by doing nothing. There have been well over 2 million illegal border crossings this year alone. That number is potentially on track to reach 3 million by the end of 2022. The state of the economy is just as bad as the state of the border. Biden's colossal amount of government spending has fueled inflation to its highest rate in 40 years, with the willing support of Democrats. Tea Party Patriots Action Mourns Passing of Speaker Ralston
Atlanta, GA – Today, Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge, 73rd Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives) passed away. He was 68 years old. In 1998, I volunteered on his statewide campaign for Attorney General. He always treated my family and me with kindness and respect. He had a long and distinguished career in Georgia government, serving nearly two decades as Georgia Speaker. I appreciate his service to the people of Georgia. My prayers are with his family as they grieve and mourn him.”
Tea Party Patriots Action Launches Website toRecruit and Train Poll Watchers & Poll Workers for Midterm Elections
Atlanta, GA – – Today, Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) announced the creation of a website to recruit poll watchers and poll workers for the midterm elections. The website is HelpAtThePolls.com. This year, TPPA conducted a multi-state election integrity tour recruiting and training poll watchers and poll workers in key battleground states, including Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona. This week alone, they have recruited over 700 volunteers and they have trained more than 8,000 volunteers over the course of the year. TPPA Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement: “Election integrity is one of the top issues for conservatives, given the controversies over the 2020 presidential vote. One of the most important elements of election integrity is making sure there isn’t a liberal bias among poll watchers and poll workers.
