Tea Party Patriots Action Urges Senators to Vote “No” on Jackson Supreme Court Nomination
Atlanta, GA – Today, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: "There is no mystery to how Judge Jackson will vote as a Supreme Court justice if she’s ultimately confirmed. Her record as a judge makes clear her predilection for choosing the preferred outcome and then working backwards to find a legal justification for it, rather than simply following the meaning of the Constitution and the law wherever they may lead. This means Judge Jackson will be on the wrong side of key issues facing our country, including the Constitution’s limitations on government’s authority, the Second Amendment, vaccine mandates, and imposing proper sentences on criminals. No Senator who believes in our Constitution should vote for Judge Jackson.”

Atlanta, GA – Today, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) officially withdrew its vaccine requirement for private employers with 100 or more employees. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: “This is a big win for freedom, and a big loss for the Biden Administration. Vaccine mandates – whether at the federal, state, or local level – are a direct affront to our freedom. Indeed, opposing these mandates is one of the most pressing issues facing our country today. TPPA has been a leader on this issue from the start, and has helped organize more than 500 protests nationwide against the mandates. We were also a coalition partner of the ‘Defeat the Mandates’ rally in Washington, DC, and other cities last weekend. We will continue opposing vaccine mandates. No politician or faceless bureaucrat should ever make medical decisions for you or your loved ones.” TPPA published op-eds and many calls to action for its grassroots activists week after week, including asking activists to leave comments on the government website against the mandate.
Tea Party Patriots Action Slams Senate Democrats for Trying to Break the Senate
Atlanta, GA – Today, Senate Majority Leader Schumer is having the Senate vote to break the filibuster in order to pass two pieces of legislation: The DC Takeover of Elections to Make It Easy to Cheat Act, and the Pelosi Power Grab. Nearly every Senate Democrat is expected to vote in favor of breaking the filibuster. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: “Senate Democrats should not tamper with what has worked for more than 230 years. As Senator Manchin pointed out last week, never in the entire history of the United States has the Senate brought debate to a close with a simple majority. There is a reason the Founders gave us two legislative chambers, not one, and there is a reason one of them works by majority rule and the other works by supermajority rule. We urge every Senator to vote against breaking the filibuster, because breaking the filibuster would break the Senate. This should never have been brought up for a vote in the first place.”

ATLANTA, GA – Today, the Supreme Court overturned the Biden Administration’s OSHA vaccine mandate for private employers but upheld the CMS vaccine mandate for health care workers. Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement reacting to the Supreme Court rulings: “The Supreme Court got it half-right today by overturning the Biden Administration’s OSHA vaccine mandate for private employers. That ruling is a massive win for the Constitution and the notion of limited and enumerated powers, and for freedom in America. However, the Court’s decision to uphold the CMS vaccine mandate for health care workers is still a significant blow to freedom. No one should lose his or her job over his or her vaccination status. The Supreme Court’s job is to defend Americans when our basic liberties are under attack. The Court failed the approximately 17 million Americans who are covered by the health care worker mandate.”
