Atlanta, GA –Today, Tea Party Patriots Action released new data from a poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates showing strong majority support among American voters for the SAVE America Act.

The poll, which surveyed 1,000 general election voters and was conducted on July 22, found:

• 82% agree that “only United States citizens should be allowed to vote in elections for U.S. president, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House” (91% Republican, 72% Democrat, 84% Independent).
• 78% agree that “proof of United States citizenship should be required to register to vote in American elections” (94% Republican, 68% Democrat, 73% Independent).
• 78% agree that “voters should be required to show a photo ID when casting a ballot” (94% Republican, 63% Democrat, 75% Independent).
• 56% agree that “the United States Senate should continue to work to pass the SAVE America Act before this year’s elections.”

Tea Party Patriots Action Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: “The SAVE America Act is rightfully at the top of President Trump’s domestic agenda. Our poll shows that an overwhelming majority of American voters – including a strong majority of Democrats – support proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote and showing voter ID when casting a ballot.

“Further, a majority of American voters want the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act before this year’s elections.

“Tea Party Patriots Action has been and continues to be the leading conservative grassroots organization rallying support for the SAVE America Act. In the summer of 2025, Tea Party Patriots Action carried out a four-week, eighteen-state bus tour to rally support for the legislation.

“The Senate needs to do its job and pass the SAVE America Act. The time for excuses is over. President Trump is demanding it, grassroots conservatives are demanding it, and the American people – across all party lines – are demanding it.”

Additional data from the poll:

• 72% agree that “Iran should not be allowed to block, attack, mine, or extort ships in the Strait of Hormuz.”
• 62% agree that “the United States must finish the job once and for all to protect the United States and our allies — which means ensuring that Iran can never obtain a nuclear weapon and can no longer threaten American lives.”

Tea Party Patriots Action Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: “Our poll is an important reality check for the media: it shows that 72% of Americans – including 60% of Democrats – agree that Iran cannot be allowed to exert control over the Strait of Hormuz, which is consistent with President Trump’s policy. And 62% of Americans – including 56% of Independents – believe that we need to ‘finish the job’ in Iran and ensure that ‘Iran can never obtain a nuclear weapon.’

“There is no split in the conservative movement on this issue, with self-described conservatives agreeing by 82%-10% that we need to ‘finish the job.’ Conservatives are overwhelmingly sticking with President Trump and the American people as a whole agree with the President’s strategy.”
