Tea Party Patriots Action Urges House to Pass SAVE America Act

Atlanta, GA – This week, the House will vote on the SAVE America Act. This bill strengthens election integrity by requiring states to obtain documentary proof of citizenship before registering anyone to vote in federal elections, and by requiring voters to show a photo ID before voting. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“We at Tea Party Patriots Action urge every Member of Congress to vote for the SAVE America Act.

“In the summer of 2025, we conducted a nationwide, four-week bus tour to rally support for the legislation. We held events in 18 states and concluded the bus tour with a rally on Capitol Hill in which about a dozen Members of Congress, plus about a dozen other conservative leaders, spoke to offer their strong support.

“This legislation is wildly popular across the political spectrum. In July of last year, Tea Party Patriots Action commissioned McLaughlin & Associates to conduct a poll of 1,000 likely general election voters, and it found that 83% agree that ‘proof of United States citizenship should be required to register to vote in American elections’ (13% disagree). Broken down by party, 92% of Republicans, 73% of Democrats, and 82% of Independents agree.

“The legacy media keep insisting that requiring proof of citizenship is redundant, because noncitizen voting is already illegal. What they don’t explain is that there is currently no enforcement method to ensure that the law is being followed. This is where the SAVE America Act comes in — it adds an important safety mechanism to ensure the law is being implemented as intended.

“Additionally, the bill now contains a requirement that voters show a photo ID before voting. This provision enjoys the same kind of support across all demographics. Its addition to the legislation strengthens the bill even further.

“That’s not all. The bill also eliminates mail-in registration, which the Carter-Baker Commission identified as a key means to enable voter fraud.

“This is one of the most important issues Congress will take up during this session, and we must do everything we can to get it across the finish line.”
