Atlanta, GA – This week, the House is expected to vote on President Trump’s rescissions package, which would codify $9.4 billion in spending cuts, including cuts to USAID and public broadcasting. In response, Jenny Beth Martin, Honorary Chairman of Tea Party Patriots Action, issued the following statement:

“Tea Party Patriots Action is urging every House Member to vote for President Trump’s rescissions package. This is the first of what we expect will be multiple rescissions measures to eliminate wasteful spending. By bringing this bill to the House floor just days after President Trump released his proposal, Speaker Johnson is sending a message that Congress will promptly codify the spending cuts that DOGE identified — cuts that are being challenged by left-wing legal groups and left-wing judges in many cases. With a federal budget nearing $7 trillion and an annual budget deficit nearing $2 trillion, this week’s bill, which cuts $9.4 billion, is a no-brainer and needs follow-through by the Administration and Congress. We are excited by the commitment that President Trump and DOGE have shown toward fiscal responsibility. Now Congress must seize the mantle and do its part.”
