The SAVE America Act has five days left in the United States Senate, and Jenny Beth Martin opens this episode with the math that should make every American angry. The House did its job more than once, passing a budget resolution and the National Defense Authorization Act with the full SAVE America Act attached. Both are sitting in the Senate. Fifty senators are already on record supporting proof of citizenship to register to vote and voter identification to cast a ballot. The votes are not the problem. The calendar is. Jenny Beth lays out why the deadline matters: New Jersey has admitted that 6,600 noncitizens ended up on its voter rolls and still refuses to check them against the federal citizenship database, and Alaska has found more than 3,000.
