Atlanta, GA – Tonight, President Trump delivered his annual State of the Union address. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“Tonight, President Trump knocked it out of the park — he rallied the American people around a message of optimism and confidence — record accomplishments from 2025 and record goals for 2026 and beyond.

“The Working Families Tax Cut that the President and Congressional Republicans passed last summer is bolstering our economy and making life more affordable. After the worst inflation in generations under the previous administration, President Trump’s policies are bringing down inflation. We are in the middle of the ‘Great Reshoring’ as manufacturers move facilities back to the U.S., incentivized by the Working Families Tax Credit. This historic legislation will have equal benefits for America’s energy industry, incentivizing energy investment and production here at home, likely creating hundreds of thousands of jobs.

“The President’s commitment to enforce our immigration laws is just as impressive. The ‘Biden Border Crisis’ is over. Daily apprehensions at the border are down about 80 percent since President Trump took office. Over three million illegal aliens — many of whom had criminal records — have left the country. Their departures make our communities safer. Indeed, the national homicide rate fell by about 20 percent in 2025, falling to its lowest level since records began over a century ago.

“Promises made, promises kept. This is what the conservative grassroots have been demanding. This is what the American people voted for.

“When it comes to voting, the integrity of our elections must be protected and enhanced. This is why Tea Party Patriots Action is pushing so hard on the SAVE America Act. This is the perfect time to pass the legislation with a Republican President and a Republican Congress and the midterm elections coming up. Last summer, we held a nationwide, four-week bus tour in support of the legislation, culminating in a Capitol Hill rally. The Senate should use existing rules to enact a ‘talking filibuster’ to break Democrat obstruction and get the bill to the President’s desk. This should be our highest priority for 2026, as far as legislation goes.

“It’s fitting that the Democrat response is being delivered by Virginia’s new Governor, Abigail Spanberger. The contrast between what Republicans are doing at the national level and what Democrats are doing in Virginia couldn’t be more clear, with Virginia Democrats sprinting to enact a radical left-wing agenda on taxes, spending, public safety, redrawing congressional maps, and a lot more. Spanberger ran her campaign as a ‘centrist’ so Virginia voters got scammed. Americans in the other 49 states should heed the lesson as the midterm races heat up.

“Tea Party Patriots Actions has been proud to work closely with the Trump administration and Congressional leaders and we will continue to do so. The best is yet to come.”
