65% of Americans Support SAVE America Act
60% Call it “Urgent”
59% Want a Real Debate, Not Failure Theater

Atlanta, GA – Today, Tea Party Patriots Action released new data from a poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates showing massive majority support for the SAVE America Act and the “talking filibuster” strategy to earn Senate passage.

The poll, which surveyed 1,000 general election voters and was conducted on March 10, found:

• 77% agree that “proof of United States citizenship should be required to register to vote in American elections” (broken down by party, 92% of Republicans, 64% of Democrats, and 75% of Independents “agree”).
• 65% agree that “the United States Senate should bring the SAVE America Act to the floor for debate and pass the bill.”
• 60% agree it is “urgent” for “the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act to ensure that only U.S. citizens are on the voter rolls and that photo ID is required before the first ballots are cast.”
• 59% prefer that “Senators fight to bring the bill to the Senate floor for real debate and a real effort to pass it” (21% say they prefer “that Senators hold a vote they know will fail so they can say they tried”).
• 95% “currently have a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.”

Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“President Trump is right about the importance of the SAVE America Act and our poll confirms it. Our poll shows that election integrity is a bipartisan issue, with overwhelming majorities of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents wanting to require proof of citizenship to vote in American elections, which is the centerpiece of the SAVE America Act.

“Just as importantly, our poll shows that Americans want a real debate in the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, not ‘failure theater.’ By a 59%-21% margin, they want a ‘real effort to pass’ the legislation, not ‘a vote they know will fail so they can say they tried.’

“Our poll should ring alarm bells for Republican Senators who support ‘failure theater’: the American people want action, and they will not accept excuses.

“To be clear, Tea Party Patriots Action is not calling for the filibuster to be eliminated; instead, we are urging the Senate to fight for the SAVE America Act by talking and debating on the Senate floor. Let’s engage in the kind of debate the Framers wanted. Robust, lively, and engaging. Let’s give everyone the opportunity to speak to their heart’s content within the rules. Then let’s vote. That’s what the American people want too.

“In the summer of 2025, Tea Party Patriots Action conducted a nationwide, four-week bus tour to rally support for the SAVE Act. We held events in 18 states and concluded the bus tour with a rally on Capitol Hill in which about a dozen Members of Congress, plus about a dozen other conservative leaders, spoke to offer their strong support.

“Securing our elections from foreign interference should be Congress’ top priority after the previous administration allowed millions upon millions of illegal aliens to enter our country through four years of ‘open borders.’ There is urgency to passing the bill before the midterms or turnout could suffer in November. Let’s get it done.”
