“What happened in Charlottesville is terrorism and we join all Americans in condemning violence and hatred.”

Eyeglasses with newspaper and coffee cup

In light of the horrendous events that occurred in Charlottesville over the weekend, we unequivocally condemn racism, white supremacy, fascism, and Nazism in all of its forms. These hateful ideas nearly always inevitably lead to the violence and terrorism that we all witnessed in shock on Saturday. Our prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives as well as those who sustained injuries from these careless acts. Every American is equal before the law and should be able to enjoy the blessings of freedom. Violence and hatred have no place in civil discourse. Our hope is that no matter how vehemently we may disagree on issues, that we strive to do so with mutual respect for our fellow Americans.
