ATLANTA, Ga. – Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund (TPPCF) Chairman Jenny Beth Martin today released the following statement, announcing that the Super PAC associated with the nation’s largest Tea Party group has endorsed Yesli Vega for Congress in the seat representing Virginia’s 7th Congressional District:

“Yesli Vega has already demonstrated her commitment to the Tea Party values of personal freedom, economic freedom, and a debt-free future. As a member of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, she fought for reduced property tax rates and defended the Second Amendment rights of gun owners. She led the fight to preserve Prince William County’s 287(g) agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement – which allows local law enforcement officers to work with federal officers to deter illegal immigration – and she will fight in the Congress to help secure our southern border.

“As a law enforcement officer in three different jurisdictions – the City of Alexandria, Manassas Park, and Prince William County – she has seen the destructive effects of the violent crime associated with the drug cartels. She believes that her constituents in northern Virginia suffer now because of the crisis at the southern border, and is committed to ending the crisis on the border so as to secure a better life for her constituents in Virginia.

“And as a law enforcement officer, she strongly opposes the radical Democrats’ efforts to defund the police. Says Yesli, ‘As your representative, I will never succumb to the defunding of, or the new term “reimagining of” police and law enforcement. The results are already in, and these ideas have been proven to have dangerous and deadly consequences.’

“As a first-generation American, Yesli is committed to defending the Constitution and its timeless principles – limited government and individual liberty. In the Congress, she will defend and promote the Tea Party values of personal freedom, economic freedom, and a debt-free future.
