George Washington, the Father of our Nation, humbly and repeatedly called upon God in fasting and prayer to aid him, his troops, and his arms during the Revolutionary War. Congress appointed a Day of Fasting & Prayer to call upon God, and plead for His Providential aid. God answered their prayers with innumerable miracles and blessings, enabling them to win battles they otherwise shouldn't have won, giving them strength to defea......t their enemy, and helping them come together in unity to draft and sign the Constitution of the United States of America.
As George Washington wrote on May 6th, let September 11th be a “day of fasting, humiliation, and prayer to acknowledge the gracious interpositions of Providence, to deprecate deserved punishment for our Sins and Ingratitude, to unitedly implore the Protection of Heaven, Success to our Arms and the Arms of our Allies.”
May we unite in prayer and fasting, wherever you may be, that our faith in God will be strengthened, our hope will not dim, that we may have charity towards all, and receive guidance to know what WE can do to protect our Nation and its inspired Constitution.
