Atlanta, GA – Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund (TPPCF) Chairman Jenny Beth Martin today released the following statement, announcing that the Super PAC associated with the nation’s largest Tea Party group has endorsed U.S. Rep. Chip Roy for Attorney General of Texas:

“Chip Roy is the strong conservative leader Texas needs as its next attorney general.

“We’ve known Chip since the earliest days of the Tea Party, when he was chief of staff for Senator Ted Cruz. We saw Chip work with senators, staffers, and coalition groups to design and execute strategies to fight the Obama administration’s plans to take over our health care. Chip was one of the earliest to realize that the fight against Obamacare was more than a fight over healthcare policy, it was a fight over the nature of the relationship between the state and the individual.

“Chip’s actions in the Obamacare fight demonstrated to us that he has three key virtues for Tea Party Patriots – he is a staunch constitutionalist; he is willing to fight the Washington establishment; and he is a champion for our values and is just as committed as we are to working for personal freedom, economic freedom, and a debt-free future. Whether the issue is healthcare freedom, fighting to prevent illegal immigration, enhancing border security, or fighting overly burdensome federal environmental regulations, we know Chip sees the world the same way we do.

“And don’t even get me started on Chip and election integrity. Chip’s Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act is one of the main focuses of our sister organization’s work in this Congress. Chip’s commitment to working to reform our election system is unsurpassed by any other member of Congress, and is rivaled only by his commitment to defending the Constitution.

“Chip also has the perfect blend of professional experiences to serve as Texas’ Attorney General. He spent years in Washington working for two U.S. Senators on issues including intellectual property, crime, civil justice reform, regulation, immigration, and border security. He worked as a Special Assistant in the office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas, and he worked as the first assistant attorney general of Texas. He prosecuted criminals and he stood up for law enforcement. He knows the job, and we are confident he’ll pursue justice on behalf of all Texans.

“So are his fellow Texans. Before deciding to make this endorsement, we surveyed our members and supporters in Texas. The result: they want us to make an endorsement in this race, and they made clear by an overwhelming margin which candidate they want us to endorse.

“Consequently, on behalf of Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, I am pleased to endorse Chip Roy for Texas Attorney General, and I urge all voters in Texas to make a plan to be a voter for him in the March 3, 2026, GOP primary and the November 2026 general election.”
