ATLANTA, Ga. – Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund (TPPCF) Chairman Jenny Beth Martin today released the following statement, announcing that the Super PAC associated with the nation’s largest Tea Party group has endorsed U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell for reelection in the seat representing New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District:

“Yvette Herrell has been fighting to stop illegal immigration since she first joined the New Mexico legislature more than a decade ago. As the U.S. Representative for New Mexico’s second congressional district – a district that encompasses the entirety of New Mexico’s border with Mexico – she has continued that work.

“It did not take her long to act. Within her first 100 days in office as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, she called on her state’s governor to send National Guard troops to secure the border.

“Since then, she has introduced legislation to reimburse American property owners – ranchers, farmers, small businessmen, homeowners, and other property owners – for damages caused by illegal immigrants. The legislation would also reimburse state and local governments for their illegal-immigration-related costs. She has also introduced legislation to require comprehensive background checks for all illegal immigrants detained in the United States. That bill would prevent their release before their immigration case is complete if they have any criminal convictions or ties to gangs, terrorists, or drug cartels or cannot be vetted properly,

“Moreover, Yvette has been a strong voice for the conservative principles of individual liberty and limited government. She believes in personal freedom, economic freedom, and a debt free future, and has fought to turn those principles into policy.

“She opposes the reckless spending that has created the worst inflation in 40 years. She wants to reduce taxes and cut regulations to create the kind of dynamic economic growth we’ll need to pay off the massive national debt we’re now suffering under.

“Consequently, on behalf of Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, I am pleased to endorse U.S. Rep.
