Tea Party Patriots Action Continues Pushing for Special Session of Georgia Legislature so Rogue D.A.’s Attack on Free Speech Can Be Defunded

tppa-statement

Atlanta, GA – Today, Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin spoke at a press conference organized by the Georgia Freedom Caucus urging a special session of the legislature to defund Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s attacks on free speech in response to her indictment of former President Trump and 18 others. Ms. Martin issued the following statement:

“When the district attorney indicted 19 people for trying to make sure our election was free and fair, she was wrong.  Every day that goes by that innocent people have to prepare to defend themselves in a trial, those wrongs continue. District Attorney Fani Willis has abused the power of her office for her own partisan political purposes, and that is wrong. Her wrongful prosecution must be defunded. The Constitution of Georgia gives the legislature the power of the purse. Working together, the Governor and the legislature must right this wrong through a special session of the legislature.  We are not going to allow the district attorney’s abuse of her office to chill our determination to exercise our God-given rights.”
