Atlanta, GA – On Saturday, the Department of Homeland Security issued a statement that ICE has begun a “surge in sanctuary cities” as part of the Trump administration’s commitment to deporting illegal aliens. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“Tea Party Patriots Action fully supports the Trump administration’s decision to ‘surge’ into sanctuary cities to accelerate deportations of illegal aliens. The American people voted for this policy in the 2024 elections and the administration has been remarkably successful in carrying it out. Think to where we were two years ago, under the Biden administration: A massive invasion of our southern border, plus virtually no interior enforcement of our immigration laws. The Trump administration has effectively ended the southern invasion, and working with Congressional Republicans has significantly increased DHS’s resources to enforce the law through the Working Families Tax Cut Act. The ICE ‘surge’ is necessary to keep Americans safe, reduce the strain of social services, and undo the catastrophic damage of the Biden administration.”

Today, the Washington Examiner published Ms. Martin’s op-ed, They claimed their hands were tied on the border. Trump just proved it was all a lie.
