As Senate Judiciary Committee Investigates, Tea Paty Patriots Action Urges Judge Boasberg Impeachment
January 7, 2026
Atlanta, GA – Today, the Senate Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights will hold a hearing entitled “Impeachment: Holding Rogue Judges Accountable.” U.S. District Court Chief Judge James Boasberg will be among the judges that Senators will examine during the hearing. Judge Boasberg wrongly barred President Trump from deporting Venezuelan gang members under the Alien Enemies Act, and directed officials to halt or turn around any planes carrying illegal aliens covered by the order. In anticipation of the hearing, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:
“Judicial independence does not provide immunity from common sense. When a federal judge consistently puts his own political ideology over his sworn duty to defend the Constitution, he puts himself at risk of impeachment. In the case of Judge Boasberg, his repeated attempts to stonewall the Trump administration’s legitimate enforcement of our immigration laws were later overruled by the Supreme Court, and rightfully so — because Boasberg is an ideologue, not a fair arbiter of justice.
“We have since learned that Judge Boasberg approved secret FBI subpoenas and invasive surveillance tactics that allowed the Biden Administration to spy on President Trump and his allies as part of the FBI’s ‘Arctic Frost’ operation. From Boasberg’s standpoint, the weaponization of government represented by ‘Arctic Frost’ was a feature, not a bug.
“Congress has a duty to impeach judges who abuse their power. Judge Boasberg has clearly done so and should be removed from office. Other left-wing judges who block legitimate Trump administration actions may also merit impeachment, but Boasberg is the most deserving and he should be removed expeditiously.”
In November 2025, Ms. Martin authored a Daily Caller op-ed urging Congress to impeach Judge Boasberg.
