ATLANTA, Ga – Tea Party Patriots CEO and co-founder Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement today in light of the terror attack in Orlando early yesterday morning.

“We are shocked and saddened by the horrific terror attack on a nightclub in Orlando that claimed the lives of at least 49 people and injured dozens of others. Our prayers and condolences are with the victims of this senseless attack and their families as they grieve the loss of their loved ones. All of the current evidence points to this being an act of radical Islamic terrorism. Our elected officials will say this isn’t a time to politicize this tragedy, but many of them will immediately aim to limit our natural right to protect ourselves instead of focusing on the real problem. Today, many Americans are wondering how many more lives must be lost to radical Islamic terrorism before our elected officials acknowledge this problem. We are asking the same question and we owe it to the victims and the loved ones impacted by all of these ruthless acts of violence to recognize the existence of radical Islamic terrorism and do everything within our Constitutional authority to stop it.”
