Atlanta, GA – Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund Chairman Jenny Beth Martin today released the following statement announcing the endorsement of Morgan Griffith to represent Virginia’s 9^th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives:

“Morgan Griffith has been fighting for his constituents in southwest Virginia since he first arrived in the Congress following the Tea Party wave in 2010.

“He’s got a proven track record of accomplishment working on behalf of our shared Tea Party values of personal freedom, economic freedom, and a debt-free future. He sponsored the first telemedicine bill ever introduced in the House of Representatives, he’s been a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and has been endorsed by Gun Owners of America, and he’s been working to lower the tax burden and restrain government spending.

“Morgan is a strong supporter of the SAVE America Act, to require states to obtain documentary proof of citizenship before registering a new voter. As he said after the House passed the SAVE Act, ‘Non-citizen voting dilutes the voting power of American citizens and erodes public trust in our elections.’ He’s right. The SAVE Act – now expanded and renamed the “SAVE America Act” – is an important step toward stronger election integrity, and that’s why it’s overwhelmingly supported by majorities of Republicans, Independents, and even Democrats.
