VoteFORMarriageNC posted an update in the group Onslow County Tea Party Patriots 1 year, 3 months ago
Greetings!
I hope that you are well. I am writing regarding the upcoming vote on the North Carolina Marriage Amendment. I am working with the official Vote for Marriage coalition as a grassroots coordinator. My goal is to make sure that marriage supporters turn out on May 8th. Tea Party groups across the state are especially invaluable avenues for spreading the message.
I am contacting you to ask for assistance. We have 3 straight-forward goals that we would like to see achieved at every local Tea Party organization:
1) Distribute sign up forms to gather support for Marriage (http://www.voteformarriagenc.com/docs/nc_coalitionsignup.pdf) (http://www.voteformarriagenc.com/volunteer)
2) Pass resolution supporting Marriage Amendment (http://www.voteformarriagenc.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/NC_resolution.pdf)
3) Send emails to members who are not in attendance encouraging them to visit http://www.voteformarriagenc.com to sign up to support the effortThis issue has overwhelming support from Republicans, Christians, Whites, Blacks, and Tea Party Patriots, and could be a great way to energize the electorate in a very important election year.
If you have the time and date available for when your next Tea Party meeting will be occurring, I would be very interested in attending and giving a 5-10 minute update about the Marriage Amendment.
Can I count on your support for the Marriage Amendment?
Thank you very much for your assistance. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Regards,

Actually, we are mainly Libertarian, and will be encouraging citizens to vote NO for the marrigage amendment. Religious views on marriage should not be made law. Citizens of every sexual prefrence are entitled to individual liberty and equal treatment under the law. I applaude your effort and energy, but as far as support from the Onslow County Tea Party Patriots, I must respectfully decline.
