Boy Scout Oath or PromiseOn my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.Note that the Boy Scout Oath has traditionally been considered to have three promises. Those three promises are delineated by the semicolons in the Oath, which divide it into three clauses. The three promises of the Scout Oath are, therefore:
Duty to God and country,
Duty to other people, and
Duty to selfDUTY TO GOD AND COUNTRY: Your family and religious leaders teach you to know and serve God. By following these teachings, you do your duty to God.
Men and women of the past worked to make America great, and many gave their lives for their country. By being a good family member and a good citizen, by working for your country’s good and obeying its laws, you do your duty to your country. Obeying the Scout Law means living by its 12 points.
DUTY TO OTHER PEOPLE: Many people need help. A cheery smile and a helping hand make life easier for others. By doing a Good Turn daily and helping when you’re needed, you prove yourself a Scout and do your part to make this a better world.
DUTY TO SELF: Keeping yourself physically strong means taking care of your body. Eat the right foods and build your strength. Staying mentally awake means learn all you can, be curious, and ask questions. Being morally straight means to live your life with honesty, to be clean in your speech and actions, and to be a person of strong character.
Boy Scout LawA Scout is:
Trustworthy,
Loyal,
Helpful,
Friendly,
Courteous,
Kind,
Obedient,
Cheerful,
Thrifty,
Brave,
Clean,
and Reverent.Boy Scout Motto

3/20/2013The Scouts have sent out a survey to their current and prior members asking if they should change their policy toward membership based on sexual orientation. At risk is one of America’s strongest conservative youth organizations being hijacked by the pro-homosexual movement.
It’s hard to see this survey and the BSA’s request for on-line comments as anything more than an attempt to get cover for whatever decision their Board makes later this year. But it is very important that pro-moral Americans deluge the Scouts with encouragement to stand up to pro-homosexual bullying! Please see my important update below – Mat.
Thomas,
The Boy Scouts of America recently sent out a 13 question “Voice of the Scouts” survey to well over a million of its currently registered scouts, parents, and alumni asking their opinions on the BSA’s “careful and deliberate review of our membership policy, as it relates to the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation.”
The questions address different scenarios including…
Is it acceptable for a gay scout to tent with a straight scout on an overnight camping trip?
Should a lesbian be allowed to lead as a den mother to a Cub Scout den if the sponsoring church teaches that homosexuality is a sin?
Should an openly gay person be accepted in a troop where the charter is to a church whose doctrine teaches that homosexuality is wrong?
Is it acceptable for an openly gay adult leader and heterosexual leader to take adolescent boys on an overnight camping trip?
This survey is not open to the general public. Invited participants have been receiving their surveys over the past several days.
++Here is what we can, and should, do!
The BSA is asking you for your input about their policy prohibiting open homosexuals from participating in the Scouting program through an open comment period.
We need to respond to their request in force because pro-homosexual activists are making a major effort to bury the Scouts with responses from their misguided perspective!
We have added a comment section on our Boy Scouts of America petition page, which will allow you to add a comment to be included in our next petition delivery.
I am asking you to take a moment to add your comments to the petition, which will be delivered to the BSA headquarters prior to the end of the open comment period and prior to their board’s all-important vote in May.
The more comments we include, the stronger the statement will be! I assure you that those who oppose our viewpoint will be rallying their base to force the Scouts to cave in to their pressure and change their group’s pro-moral policy.
Click here now to add your comments to the petition:

Here are a few suggested comments, if you need them…
Dear Boy Scouts: Please do not backtrack on your core values. I urge you to maintain the moral integrity of your organization by not changing your ban on homosexual participation.
Dear Boy Scouts: Do not change your ban on homosexual participation in your organization. For over 100 years, your group has maintained the highest of moral standards. Please do not fall prey to current activist pressures.
Dear Boy Scouts: Please do not change your ban on homosexuals participating in the Scouts. Such a policy change would violate the moral values inherent in the Scout Law and Oath, and it would be a slap in the face to the churches, religious organizations, and local volunteers who sponsor and fund the vast majority of Scout troops.
Dear Boy Scouts: For more than a century, the Boy Scouts represented cherished American values. Do not abandon your principles. Say “no” to the pressure being put on you to change your policy on homosexual participation. I believe the result would be disastrous.
Dear BSA Board of Directors: Scouting should hold firm to the transcendent values the organization has long promoted, demonstrating the courage that is asked of every Boy Scout. Do not cave to activist. Stand strong on your time-proven policy!
Please help us encourage the Boy Scouts to hold to their principles by encouraging your likeminded friends, family, church members, or social groups to join you in signing this petition!
Sign the petition and add your comments today. Then, please share this petition link everywhere you possibly can to rally additional support:
