I sent a letter to the editor of the Contra Costa Times in response to another writer concerning ObamaCare. No indication whether it will be printed but I gave it a try

ObamaCare IS unconstitutional

In his misguided attempt to declare that ObamaCare is not unconstitutional another writer stumbled upon the very reason it is unconstitutional. “How”, he asks, “is it unconstitutional if the Constitution says absolutely nothing about it?” BINGO! Read Amendment X: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The States were not carved out by some national entity. Self-declared independent sovereign States created our federal republic, and they limited the Constitutional power of the central government but not personal liberties of their citizens.
Obama, with his mandates, czars, recess appointments and diktats, is progressively undermining the Constitution at every turn and Congress, from both sides of the aisle, is aiding and abetting his unconstitutional moves. Congress and the Supreme Court are supposed to balance the executive branch but SCOTUS can react only to cases brought to it, so our only option is to replace Obama and the progressives in Congress who are rubber-stamping his illegalities.
