We were at war during that time, it makes sense. Healthcare is about choice, we are not at war, not everyone can afford it! I probably wouldn’t have healthcare unless it is provided for me through work or my parents. I have health care through my father but before the age limit was extended my health care was through my work and I took it because it was affordable and available. I never go to the doctor. I am never sick. I maybe go to the doctor once every two years and mainly only cause my mom pushes me to have routine bloodwork done. Why should I pay hundreds of dollar on a health insurance if I am not even going to use it? I have a savings if I need to go to urgent care I will just pay the $60-80 doctor visit and find something natural for treatment. I don’t take chemical medications, I am all about natural medications. I have knee problems and have been diagnosised with athritis in my knees back in 2008 (note had knee problems all my life). So if I am in pain (which really I am so use to it, it normally doesn’t bother me at all I just walk through it) I take tumeric capsule which is a spice that is also a natural anti-inflammitory and smear some uber de vaca (natural icey-hot), put a knee support on and I am good to go. No liver and kidney affecting pain medications. I am only 24 can you image how my kidneys and liver will be ten years down the road because of a pain drug prescribed for me and if I actually took it the two times a day for the rest of my life like I am suppose too? Possibly when I get older and ’really’ start having medical issues would I look into healthcare and I sure as hell want to be able to pick my own healthcare and doctors! Can you image trying to find holistic medicine covered by Obamacare, they would probably be ’outside my network’.
