I am looking for some local Greenville County folks to partner with me in forming a non-partisan, Citizen’s Oversight Committee to begin a review process of the county’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the purpose of helping to ensure (and restore where necessary) honest financial accounting and proper use of public funds for the benefit of the citizens of Greenville County.

We need to begin this process at the LOCAL level and then spread it to each county within South Carolina so we can have the momentum to affect our State and eventually the Nation. If you’ve never heard of the CAFR before, then that is your FIRST CLUE that something needs to be done. You will always hear about BUDGET DEFICITS, but you will almost NEVER hear about the CAFR which is the TRUE and FULL picture of the county’s finances with full asset disclosure, not just the fabricated ”Budget Basis”.
