Senator John McCain’s words from last week remain largely misrepresented by the media. Intent on bringing the truth to light in the deadly Benghazi terror attack that resulted in the murders of four Americans, McCain called for a Select Committee to probe the Libya disaster, saying…

“There is no credibility among most of us concerning the administration and the numerous controversies and contradictions that have been involved in their handling of this issue.”

The fact is, the Obama administration’s half-hearted attempt to get to the bottom of what is being called “Benghazi-gate” is simply not credible. Rather, we are being fed a constant stream of misrepresentations and diversions.

So it is no surprise that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put on an angry show in rejecting McCain’s request for the appointment of a Select Committee.

In a strongly worded letter, Reid reminded McCain that “the elections are over” and rebuked him for “trying to politicize” the murders of the four Americans including U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens.

Reid condescendingly held to the administration’s line, saying,

“I refuse to allow the Senate to be used as a venue for baseless partisan attacks.”

Baseless attacks?

Michael, more than two months after this deadly attack on our consulate, we are still no closer to the truth. Instead, the American people’s questions and concerns are growing daily as the details of the events of September 11th are being consistently stonewalled.

Here’s a simple example of a question that needs answering: Who gave the order to alter the CIA talking points, omitting all references to Al Qaeda?

Instead of providing truthful answers, we have the spectacle of the Senate Majority Leader accusing and rebuking senators who understand their obligation to the nation and to the families of those who died.

Now, there is an orchestrated effort to stop those who are trying to bring transparency and accountability to this investigative process.

Harry Reid’s attitude demonstrates a maniacal allegiance to protecting the Obama administration at all costs.

Sharply rebuking those who are trying to get to the bottom of this national tragedy shows that administration loyalists are the ones attempting to politicize the tragedy of Benghazi!

It is up to grassroots Americans to bring the obstructionists back in line. They are the ones who need to be rebuked – by the people!

Prior to last week’s Intelligence Committee hearings, Liberty Counsel delivered tens of thousands of petitions (a little over 32,000 petitions, to be exact) calling for a complete investigation into the events at Benghazi.
