We have a great meeting lined up for Sunday, August 12th. As usual, it will be 4:00-6:00pm at John Martin’s Pub, 253 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134 in their upstairs meeting room as usual, with dinner afterwards downstairs.
It all starts with the ground game. The contacts we make and the data we collect helps us get our troops to the polls in November. It also turns public opinion our way. DATA AND PERSONAL CONTACT IS CRITICAL! That is how a tight race is won…and there is no tighter (or more important) race than Florida, 2012. That ground game is how we got rid of Rino Richard Lugar in Indiana, kept Scott Walker in Wisconsin and just nominated Ted Cruz in Texas, among others. Don’t forget how the Tea Party candidate, Marco Rubio, beat the establishment candidate Charlie Crist (yuck) here in Florida in2010!
FreedomWorks, which was instrumental in all of these campaigns, is about to turn its attention to Florida and OUR races. The FreedomWorks crew is exhausted, but elated by their success in Texas this week. Three representatives, Ryan Hecker, COO strategy for the SuperPac along with field generals David Spielman and Jeff Scully will be at our meeting on August 12th because Florida is one of their next big battleground states. They are coming to show us how we can plug into their battle plan as well! They have a SuperPac and they can be much more aggressive in actually campaigning directly for candidates as long as they do not coordinate with the candidates’ separate campaigns. THIS IS A BIG DEAL!
Wait, there’s more! The Hispanic outreach director from Americans for Prosperity, Andrés Malavé, will also be at our meeting for a short presentation. We pitched to AFP, about the “20 Reasons” video campaign that was used by the Braman/Miami Voice coalition (with our own Stanley K as the point man) to recall Mayor Alvarez and “what’s her name”. AFP LOVE’s the idea and would like to roll out a similar nationwide campaign to reach out and unlock the “inner conservative” in Hispanics across the country. Tea-by-the-Sea has the perfect demographic to be a part of this. This is a tremendous opportunity for all of us to be a part of something much bigger than Florida. We are going to need some Hispanic input and speakers for the various spots, some of which will be from a Florida Hispanic perspective. We’ll also get other Hispanics from around the country involved. This could be a fantastic opportunity to get the word out…and ANOTHER BIG DEAL!
I want all of us in Tea-by-the-Sea to be a part of one of these major efforts. This is NOT the time to sit back and hope for the best. Hope is not a strategy. We need to deliver Florida for conservatives.
Join the fight! If you are not in the game, you won’t share in the satisfaction of victory. Let’s “Fil-A” these liberals in the general election!
