Just posted this to Rep Perlmutter and both Senators; please amplify/pile-on as you see fit:
Since the Super Committee was unable to achieve anything, they must have lacked sufficient incentive. So, going forward, any incentives should involve CONGRESS’s paychecks. In other words, the next time some genius dreams up a new way to kick the can down the road, ALL Congressmen, Senators, AND staffers should know that their pay will be permanently cut at a rate of 2% per month until the ”compromise” is achieved. The pay cuts are to remain in effect until the CBO has certified that the final legislation yielded a NET CUT, not just a cut in PROJECTED INCREASES. One way or the other, spending will decrease…
ALSO – DRILL NOW! The cost of Natural Gas has halved over the past few years as a result of increased supply. LET THE OIL COMPANIES START DRILLING, and LET THEM BUILD REFINERIES. NOW.
