The stream of national power ought to flow immediately from that pure, original fountain of all legitimate authority." Alexander Hamilton, Federalist Papers #22. What has to be understood if the concept of Committee of Safety becomes a tool in our efforts to return to constitutional government, is that the authority of the people be recognized above all else. All "enactments" should come from that source, and finally be approved by that source. Any executive committee actions should be for their ministerial nature, only. The corporate pyramid must be turned over and recognized in its proper light, that the people are at the top, just under God. Next comes the committee of safety, and its various sub-committees, which function as the source defined by interest, to generate "enactments". Finally come the delegates, chairmen, and executive committee whose only purpose is to facilitate the orderly determination of the will of the people, and provide the means to implement that will. The Committee of Safety concept, in order to operate in a manner which is suggested by history, must operate as committees and the Committee of the Whole. It must never operate as a "star chamber" or an executive authority under the current concept. It must never operate as a corporation, for a corporate interest might not be the same as the employees or the owners, except if its goal is strictly profit. This is not the goal of the Committee of Safety. The goal that is sought to be achieved is that the will of the people be carried out by those who have sought to assist in that administration, not by those who seek to control that will. "Resolved unanimously, As our opposition to the settled plan of the British administration to enslave America will be strengthened by a union of all ranks of men in this province, we do most earnestly recommend that all former differences about religion or politics, and all private animosities and quarrels of every kind, from henceforth cease and be forever buried in oblivion; and we entreat, we conjure every man by his duty to God, his country, and his posterity, cordially to unite in defense of our common rights and liberties."

This is a new Tea Party group recently formed in Sevier County. Our June 5th kick off meeting was attended by about 70 people with only 1 day's notice in the local paper, so we're off to a good start. The next general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 8th at 6:30 pm. It will be held at the Thompson Carr meeting facility on Dolly Parton Parkway, across from Sevier County High School. We are a group of likeminded Patriots who are sick and tired of the way our country is being run into the ground. Our group organized in April, 2010 and we had over 225 at our first meeting. We meet at the Best Western, Roan Steet, Johnson City, TN. 37660.We formed seven committees and we are trying to win some "wars" in our local area as well as State and Federal. The organizers are Doug and Kay White and they attend the County Commission meeting, city and all other Tea Party Meetings that are in the area when schedules permit. We are working to educate and elevate the truth of our Constitution. Brenda Osborne, a loyal member set up our web site and we have a very functional Educational committee which meets every Sat. morning for a round table dicussion at the Best Western at nine. We have been on television, radio and in the newspapers. We were able with the Greene County Tea Party to take 3 buses full to the Glenn Beck Rally. One of our organizers, Kay was interviewed at the Glenn Beck Rally by Alzazeera International Television where she spoke out against Sheriah law and told on television why - the next week she was received a letter from a Muslim in Africa! She immediately wrote back and told them we only needed to follow the law which we have, our Constitution and we did not NEED any other laws - just for our elected officials to follow the Constitution!

Sumner United for Responsible Government (Sumner United) is the official organization created by the citizen organizers of the first Sumner County Tea Party on April 15th where more than 2,000 people gathered to celebrate our individual liberties. And that was just the beginning. Sumner United is a grassroots organization of patriotic citizens committed to returning our government to its Constitutional bounds and making our elected representatives accountable to the will of the people, who are the sole source of our government's authority and existence. We will accomplish these tasks by recruiting more people to our cause and informing our representatives of our will with frequent activism in the form of education, protests, petitions, citizen-to-representative contacts, public forums, dedicated involvement in electing responsive and Constitution-abiding representatives, and other non-violent activities we find appropriate and necessary. The Black Robe Regiment is a group for all people of faith to network,share, and learn about the roll of the faith community in the social sphere. We are both a resource and study site as well as a social networking tool.

A disorderly body means all the parts work independently, if they feel like it. Considering our own body, if our vital parts did not work in harmony, what a mess we would be. They must do their jobs to make the rest of the body work as it should.
