Skelos Support Made Cuomo’s Gun Control Bill Possible

Dean Skelos has spent the last two years making progressive governor Andrew Cuomo look good at the expense of his constituents.

The recent fiasco involving Cuomo’s gun control bill is another indication that Skelos has lost sight of the wishes of the conservative, moderate and independent voters that elected him. Worse, Skelos has alienated most of his Republican colleagues in the Senate.

Skelos used intimidation and threats to ”convince” eight of Long Island’s nine Republican senators to support Cuomo’s bill. Only 11 Republicans voted for the bill statewide. He fully supported Cuomo’s misuse of ”emergency powers” (Message of Necessity) so that Senators were forced to vote without reading the bill.

It was Skelos that made Cuomo’s Progressive attack on the 2nd Amendment possible.

ENOUGH!

Skelos can no longer head the Republicans in the Senate because he has lost the faith of the Republican/Conservative/Independent constituent base that elected him and his colleagues.
