Dear Chairman Fahleson,
It is indeed ironic that my 2012 Sustaining Membership Renewal Notice should arrive today from the Mike &
Stephanie Johanns Republican Center.
As local coordinator for the Sarpy County Tea Party Patriots, I must take exception to Senator Johanns’
characterization of the Tea Party in his endorsement of Deb Fischer, in the Omaha World Herald on May 17th.http://www.omaha.com/article/20120517/NEWS01/705179884
Several national news media outlets tried to portray Fischer’s win as a coup by the Tea Party movement,
based largely on Palin’s endorsement. But most Tea Party organizations supported either Stenberg or
Bruning.
Sen. Mike Johanns took issue with such analysis.
”She’s not going to get tangled up in Tea Party and everything else,” he said. ”I just think she’s going to
be a very common-sense, practical conservative, and we need more of that here.”
From the Tea Party Patriots web site, http://www.teapartypatriots.org/about/
The Tea Party Patriots’ mission is to restore America’s founding principles of Fiscal Responsibility,
Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.
Does Senator Johanns find the Tea Party lacking in common-sense or unpractical? Is Tea Party support for the Senator
and Deb Fischer an unwise investment of our time and resources?
Next, he tried a little damage control on KFAB http://www.kfab.com/player/?mid=22103397
If I correctly understand Senator Johanns, he’s 100% behind the Tea Party as long as we remain a bunch of politically
impotent, grass roots citizens. If however, we happen to get a United States Senator elected that represents our views
then he won’t support that Senator. But he still applauds the apolitical, grass roots citizen activists that elected him?!
For example, Senator Johanns voted with Harry Reid and the Democrats against Senator Mike Lee’s “Saving the
American Dream” budget which was first proposed by those crazy, extremists over at the Heritage Foundation.http://heritageaction.com/2012/05/lee-budget-vote-recap/?

Don Stenberg was supported by Senators Mike Lee and Jim DeMint. Are these the self-serving, obstructionist, Tea
Party Senators that Senator Johanns is referring to?
This country is in a terrible mess. Millions of Americans have come together under the banner of the Tea Party to try
and restore common sense, fiscal responsibility, limited government and free markets in order to save our country.
Senator Johanns insults Tea Party members who are working tirelessly to restore America to its founding principles.
Bashing the Tea Party is usually a past time of the left.
My time and money are both limited resources. Please thank Senator Johanns for helping me choose between the
Republican Party and the Tea Party. I’ll gladly support the Tea Party and their candidate, even if they happen to be a
Republican.
Sincerely,
Glen Flint
