Dear Senator Thune,

I am very displeased with President Obama’s nomination of former Senator Chuck Hagel to be the next Secretary of Defense.

I stand with a number of pro-Israel organizations who believe his leadership as Secretary of Defense will undermine our relations with Israel – while empowering Iran, Palestine, and other anti-Israel nations to continue their denigration and assaults on one of our most important allies.

Although he is a decorated war hero, I do not believe that his foreign policy positions and leadership of our military will bode well for the security of our nation – which, of course, is the primary task of the cabinet position to which he is nominated.

Please, vigorously oppose Chuck Hagel’s confirmation!
