Let’s really start an action across this country. Here’s my idea. Currently, our ’representatives’ no longer feel accountable to their constituents. BECAUSE we don’t DIRECTLY pay their salary, benefits, and retirements. We need to get each state to get the following changes on their ballots for 2014. ALL salaries & benefits for Federal House and Senate positions are paid SOLELY by the state they are ’representing’. Yes, some will be paid more, some less because they will FINALLY BE WORKING AND ANSWERING TO THEIR CONSTITUENTS. Salaries and any changes to benefits will be voted on every two (2) years with pay adjustments ranging from ZERO to a cap of 3%. There will be a TOTAL BAN on any donations coming from companies, business, PACs, etc. ALL DONATIONS have to come directly from the LEGAL RESIDENT CITIZEN of the state that politician represents, and the annual cap per citizen is $2,500. (the citizen can divide that up among various politicians WITHIN THEIR STATE, but that is their annual limit). This will do two very importan things: 1) keep people honest, and 2) allow more citizens to run for office other than just the rich and well connected. ALSO, we need to put term limits on both the House and Senate seats, I’m thinking either 1 term each, or just one term period. But, we will continue to get dishonest, socialist, lazy jerks who don’t have any allegiance to us if we don’t control their chips and benefits. Employees can the most about the person that directly controls their ’chips’ and benefits. We MUST TAKE CONTROL BACK AND MAKE SURE THEY KNOW THEY WORK FOR US, AND THEY NEVER AGAIN FORGET IT.
