We are united for the purpose of educating ourselves and our community about the history of our great nation. In order to maintain those freedoms granted to us by our creator, we strive to defend those freedoms by encouraging patriotism, keeping a vigilant eye on actions of our government and officials, and supporting candidates for office who hold similar principles to us.

The Blue Ridge Patriots of Berkeley County are a group of like-minded individuals who believe in "Defending the Constitution - One Line at a Time." (That's our motto.) We have representatives of every political party in our group including Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Constitutionalists and Conservatives. We believe in working together to defend and preserve the American freedoms our Forefathers established for us without government intervention. We believe in a Constitutional Government with limited Federal authority and power. We believe in a strong national defense and border security and want to see a free-market economy restored to our nation instead of bailing out corporate greed. We've joined together to raise our voices in unison as we call on our legislators to slow down, read the bills and listen to the people who elected them while making sound decisions for our nation's future.

We are a group of like-minded individuals who do not represent any single political party but who have joined together across party lines to defend and preserve the American freedoms our forefathers established for us under the United States Constitution. We believe it is our mission to enlighten, inform, and educate ourselves and our community of our God-given and unalienable rights. We strive to serve our community by defending our freedoms, encouraging patriotism, shedding light on our elected and appointed government officials, and supporting those in public office who are upholding our constitution. It is our hope that our efforts and the efforts of similar groups across the country all with the same three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets will result in returning to the strict and respectful compliance with the Constitution of the United States.

There has never been a greater need for us to unite against tyranny than right now. The current administration is doing everything they can to take away our freedoms and our liberties that are God given. If we let this continue there is no one to blame but ourselves and we will deserve all that we get. The health care bill they are trying to push down our throats will raise our taxes, cause shortages and change the greatest health care system in the world. Why would anyone want to do that? To have complete control over each and every one of us. To be able to dictate what we do and when we do it. Is this the vision you have for your children and your grandchildren? They are facing a devastating future unless each one of us takes a stand now and demand that Washington, D.C. be accountable for their actions and stop treading on the Constitution. Now they want to try and shut down the coal industry as we know it. Coal can be mined properly and is a vital resource to all fifty states. Those states whose biggest export is coal will see their livelihoods, homes and futures disappear. The Cap and Trade legislation will raise everyone’s electric bills almost $1,300 a year. I don’t know about you but that will cause problems in my household. Perhaps those in D.C. do not care if they have lights and heat in their homes. Or is it they will not follow what they will make all of us do? Who are they to live differently and much better than we do? The current hate crimes legislation will stifle free speech as we know it. Conservative radio and television will have to change their formats or be fined and possibly shut down. This is one of the greatest injustices toward the Constitution to date. I want the youth of this nation to have a future and not just read about how free and independent America WAS! I want them to have the same opportunities I have had and be able to live free and live the American dream. I think upcoming elections will and have shown Washington just how tired everyone is of the corruption and self-centered actions on the part of Republicans and Democrats. Don’t take my word for it. Go read the bills and get informed. Find out what the candidates stand for. Listen to both sides and make an informed decision on what is best for you. Contact Tea Party organizers and get involved in your communities. Take a stand and let’s take this great nation back to “We the People.” Washington is supposed to work for us and not the other way around. They are not doing us a favor. They are there to work for what is best for the people of this country and they need to understand that they can (and will be) voted out.

We are a group of Concerned Citizens Who Live and Work in the Ohio Valley. We come from all walks of life- stay at home moms, small business owners, teachers, engineers, scientists, blue collar workers and more. We are life-long democrats, republicans, independents, and a few who are unsure who have come together because this is larger than our political parties. Our Core Values: 1. We are a Tea Party group in the heart of the Appalachian coalfields. Our members very active in the community spreading the Tea Party message of a smaller, fiscally responsible government and constitutional rights. Many of our members are veterans and coal miners, so naturally, we also call for a strong national defense and defend the coal mining industry against the radicals who would try to destroy it.
