I sent this ”Letter to the editor” about us and the ”fiscal cliff” today. I’m in NC
My local TV news station has sent a guy to Washington DC to sort of narrate the “fiscal cliff” whoop la. I think so we’ll all get the “proper” perspective. No sense in thinking for yourself. Remember, this state did not elect Santa Clause. It obviously needs remedial instruction.
This circus brings an interesting perspective to my mind. The government, particularly the Democrats in the Senate and in the House, but all of the government is a fiscal junkie. It is strung out on spending and just can’t imagine any way to actually cut their habit one dollar.
And the Tea Party is the intervention. Boy do they rail against the Tea Party, they cry and moan as though these were awful creatures from the gates of hell itself. The government does not like it’s intervention. Did you ever see a junkie at an intervention? “I don’t know what you mean.” “I just spend socially, I can stop any time.” “I cut down the rate of increased spending, that shows I’m in control, right?” “I do it for you.” “You’re all crazy and I’m outta here!”
And the media. Ah the media. Print, broadcast, internet, all pretty much the same. Much like the, too thin, well dressed, over educated girlfriend of the junkie, the media interprets the incoherent ramblings of the junkie. Just so we’ll understand his “motivation” to spend the rest of us into oblivion, as he nods out in the chair at the intervention. Drooling hundred dollar bills. She thinks being a junkie is cool. She’d be a junkie too if she had the governments money. So she whispers her spending ideas to it in it’s sleep. Which is most of the time.
The Tea Party is the intervention. Not jail time, not even rehab. Just the intervention. Remember this next time you see the junkies girl friend telling you what you should think about the Tea Party.
I don’t give the RNC a penny anymore. I don’t even give to individual candidates. I donate to the intervention and just the intervention until we get the guy into rehab.
