I have been asking myself what has happened to this great nation. And how did we get into the awful mess we are in. We have a group of people (congressmen and women and senators) that were once considered as public servants. They are the elected officials “we the people” put in office! They originally performed their duties as a part time job, and worked or operated their businesses back home. As time went by these honorable positions were abused as they realized the power they possessed as a result of the positions they held in our congress and senate. And they turned these once part time positions into careers and even family businesses! These people have become so divisive that it is nearly impossible for an honest man to even run for public office. You can only call it corruption. Because essentially that is exactly what it is. The way they use the money entrusted to them supposedly to benefit the American people is being squandered by not only them, but by many people in public service. They, the people in public service whether it be congress or the department of homeland security hold themselves in such high esteem that they feel they are deserving of the money they spend and the things they carelessly do. They have become big spenders that will do or say anything to justify what they call training events or conferences to the tune of millions of dollars while those of us working in the private sector are forced to be content with a 40 hour a week job that pays us just enough to get by, and for many it is not comfortably by either. That is if you can even find a job to sustain a family on. Our senators and congressmen and women have become masters of deception. Able to hide whatever it is they don’t want anyone to know about. No magician was ever as good as these people when it comes to making things disappear. Things like money, incriminating documents and harmful evidence that could be used against them. And when they are found out, often times someone is put on paid administrative leave while they investigate. Occasionally resulting in the meaningless firing of one or two of them as sacrificial lambs, and that is only done to make their superiors look like they are not willing to tolerate this kind of behavior when in fact we all know that the superiors more than likely gave the OK for these events and perhaps were even participants!
Today there is talk about raising taxes on what the government considers as “rich”. Now I read that people, citizens of the good old U.S.A. who have money, are leaving this country in alarming numbers. It is projected that for the year 2012 we will lose 154 “rich” people each week! That is just over 8,000 people this year alone. So where is the tax revenue going to come from if that trend continues. As I have said in the past. If we over tax people who are well off then our tax revenues will go down! They will not increase! And when tax revenues go down then there are only two alternatives. The first one is cut spending. And I mean deep if we are to survive. I think we all know that this will never happen. At least not with the people we have in place today. The second option and the one most likely to happen is to place a huge tax burden on the blue collar working men and women in this country, so that these power crazed politicians can continue their out of control spending without any regard for the working class people! And if this were to continue over the next few decades we might see the United States of America become the Divided States of America through secession, or worse the whole lot of us could be living in a new third world country.
That being said each and every one of us needs to ask ourselves whether or not we want our children, our grandchildren, and even our great grandchildren to grow up in a country that is strong, proud, and as self reliant as it was when we were growing up. Things do not have to be this way. We must bring jobs back for our future generations, even if it means working for a little less money so that we can be competitive in the world markets, it means weaning people off of welfare and food stamps. Even if they don’t want to be weaned off of those programs. We need to end welfare as it too has become a “family business”, and it must cease. We need political reforms, which limit the power of our congressional leaders, so that what they do (democrat or republican) is what the working class American people want and need! We must reduce our deficit, our spending, and our giving of tax dollars to foreign countries, and to special interest. We must now carefully choose the people who are to represent us now and in the future, or there will be no future! Look around people. You are becoming quickly surrounded by people with socialist attitudes who think that the answers rest with a government that will provide for their wants and needs, when in reality they are submitting to oppression. We need campaign finance reform, repeal of the 17th amendment, and term limits! We need to remove unions from public sector jobs, and we need to pay those in public sector jobs at the same levels of those in similar crafts in the private sector. We must insist that teachers in our schools are actually teaching our children a curriculum that will benefit them and prepare them for the future. No longer should those who fail be pushed ahead into the next grade level. We need to hold those in public office or jobs accountable for what they do. From the president of the United States right down to the sanitation worker in the smallest city in the country. We must secure our borders, and remove those that are here illegally and insist that if they desire to be here they must do it in accordance with our laws. We must hold our government accountable in respect to enforcing our laws that restrict access to our country. We must hold ourselves accountable for those we put in office, and when necessary have them removed, and replaced. We should enact laws that make voting a privilege reserved for those who work and contribute to society with their efforts in the workplace. No job, no vote. And for the record welfare is not a job, so again no vote! We enact a law that makes congressmen and women and senators ineligible for reelection if GDP falls below a specified level.
I could go on, and on, and on with this, and I am betting you could too. I think it is plain to see that WE have a lot of things that we can do to help turn the corner and head back to more prosperous times that offer us and our families the confidence and security that we fight for, work for, and are deserving of. I believe it is time for us to set aside our complacency, and bear down hard on government, before we are stripped of ALL of our rights as citizens of what I still consider the greatest nation on earth! If it sounds like I am a flag waving son of a bitch it’s because I am! I believe in the free enterprise system, I believe in democracy, and first and foremost I believe in God! After all, this great nation was founded on Christian principles.
