Tea Partiers abroad (UK)
While the UK is bluer than Hawaii, there are still people who’d like to be able to be unashamedly patriotic and open in their love for America. We’re not aiming to be as partisan as most of our members would kinda like, as loving freedom and free markets is distinctive enough.
Loving “free healthcare” in the sense of “healthcare with freedom” rather than “healthcare someone else pays for” is the type of thing that is hard for people to understand out here, at a pretty fundamental level. As such, we hope to be more of a way of keeping students, tourists, and professionals in touch with in-person conservative politics, and a way of presenting the cheerful face for American conservatism to a public that generally only hears horror stories. Thus, flag waving and patriotic song singing are key, banner waving less so.
