Louisiana Senators and Staff Scarce When Activists Seek to Remind them of their Promises

On Thursday, Tea Party Patriots activists in the great state of Louisiana set out to deliver signatures from Louisiana Patriots asking Senators Cassidy and Kennedy to keep their promises and vote to repeal ObamaCare. You would think it would be relatively easy for a constituent to remind their Senator of a promise, but they are busy people. Even if they aren’t available to meet their constituents, you’d think at least a member of the Senator’s staff would meet constituents, given they all serve the people. But as has been the case in other states recently, it’s not as easy as you might expect! When our activists showed up, petitions in ...

Physician Hospitals of America says 30,000 job left uncreated because of Obamacare

Obamacare has continued to wreak havoc on doctor-owned hospitals resulting in overworked doctors, long wait times for patients and squashed planned expansion projects for doctor-owned hospitals. These consequences have drastically impacted our economy with “a loss of $200 million in tax revenue and 30,000 jobs that went uncreated,” according to one trade group. The Washington Examiner has the details: "In many cases, patients have to wait forever," said Dr. R. Blake Curd, an orthopedic surgeon and the hospital's CEO. "We don't have the physical capacity to take care of them." Because of Obamacare, 37 physician-owned hospitals were not ...

AG Jeff Sessions: Defiant sanctuary cities ‘tie the hands of law enforcement’

Sanctuary cities, accused by President Trump’s administration of undermining federal laws in regards to illegal immigration, think they have found a loop hole – claiming the federal statute does not require cities to collect immigration status information. These jurisdictions will continue to jeopardize the safety of millions of families and law enforcement officials just to secure their federal “funds.” The Washington Times has the details: “So-called ‘sanctuary’ policies tie the hands of law enforcement by rejecting common sense and undermining federal laws that would remove criminal, illegal aliens from the streets and remove them ...

Speaker Ryan: Anthem Obamacare withdrawal in Wisc., Indiana forcing people to ‘scramble’ to find new plans, doctors

Anthem announced yesterday that it would be leaving the Obamacare exchanges for Indiana and Wisconsin in 2018. The health insurance plan provider will still provide plans off the exchange for a select few counties in both states; however, purchasers will not be able to use tax subsidies for their coverages. The Washington Examiner has the full story: Anthem said in a statement it made its decision because "the individual market remains volatile." It blamed uncertainty ahead over whether it would receive insurance payments from the federal government, as well as whether the government would enforce the Obamacare law that requires people to have ...

Jenny Beth’s Journal: American “comedians” stooping to ‘new depths of incivility’

The political rhetoric that permeates American late-night “comedy” has reached a new low, as liberal pundits attack their political opponents using the same – and worse! – vulgarities those same liberal pundits use as ammunition to condemn their opponents. Basically, if you’re a liberal attacking conservatives, anything goes in today’s society; that needs to change, Tea Party Patriots Co-Founder Jenny Beth Martin says in her latest opinion piece. The Washington Times has the commentary: Concurrent with the decline of creativity among elite artists has been the dramatic decline of civility – and in its place, crassness and crudeness ...

Here is a brilliant tribute to our military men and women this Memorial Day

Volunteers at the University of Phoenix this week in honor of Memorial Day created a stunning tribute to our military servicemen and women past and present, reports Fox 10. The display – made up of 50,000 American flags – pays homage to active-duty military personnel; veterans; and their families, according to the Fox 10 report. Not a day goes by where we don’t reap the rewards of the sacrifices made by so many brave men and women. May we never forget the price of freedom. WATCH:

HHS Secretary Tom Price: ‘We need our physicians to be patient-facing, not computer-facing’

Raise your hand if you've been to see a medical provider in recent years and been disappointed he or she spent more time behind a computer than interacting with you? Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Tom Price this week on behalf of the Trump administration says he hopes to change that by lifting the regulatory burdens that too often come between patients and their medical professionals, specifically regulations that pertain to information technology. The Washington Examiner has the details: "We simply have to do a better job of reducing the burden of health IT on physicians and other providers," said Price, speaking at the Health ...

Understanding the Role of the Senate Parliamentarian in the Reconciliation Process

This tweet brilliantly illustrates a major problem with Obamacare

Washington Examiner reporter Sarah Westwood Wednesday captured and tweeted an image during Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s daily briefing in which he compared the Obamacare legislation passed into law in 2009 to the so-called Obamacare repeal bill being negotiated. “Side by side healthcare bills (GOP versus Obamacare) on the props table in the briefing room today,” writes Westwood. President Obama’s signature health-insurance law and the regulations that come with it are nearly 23,000 pages long, the Daily Caller reported. Journalist Penny Starr, formerly of CNS News, reported that – for every word contained in the Obamacare law – ...

Louisiana attorney general: ‘Thrilled’ by prospect of working with Sessions to enforce immigration laws

Republican Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry in a recent opinion piece expressed his enthusiasm at the possibility of working with Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) – if and when he is confirmed as our next U.S. attorney general – to administer federal immigration law. The Hayride has the commentary: As Louisiana’s chief legal officer, I am thrilled by the prospect of working with a federal partner like Mr. Sessions who opposes illegal immigration and sanctuary cities. Our State has fallen prey to vehicular homicide, human trafficking, child exploitation, and other heinous crimes committed by illegal aliens. Like me, Mr. Sessions supports ...
