Fox News has the story: As many as 7,500 Americans — 20 per day — are killed annually by unlicensed drivers, and Rosenberg calculates that more than half are the victims of illegal immigrants. Now, by testifying before lawmakers, speaking to parents who have been through the same ordeal and posting his research on his nonprofit’s website, unlicensedtodrive.org, Rosenberg is shedding light on a frightening ...

Rep. Labrador: ‘I went to Washington for public service, not a career’

Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) introduced a constitutional amendment that would cap the number of terms a representative is allowed to serve in the U.S. House at six – for a maximum of 12 years of congressional service – and a maximum of two six-year terms for senators. The Daily Signal has Rep. Labrador’s commentary: We must seize the moment and put a term limits amendment before the states for ratification… Despite 2010’s call for restoration of constitutional principles and restraint of a wasteful government, Americans got more of the same. Sen. David Perdue: Time to ‘usher in the return of the citizen legislator’

Lawmakers weren’t always in office year after year and decade after decade. It used to be that legislating was a secondary job held by ordinary Americans — and it still is that way in some legislative chambers around the country — but not so much anymore in Washington, D.C. Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.) explains why that’s a problem. The Daily Signal has the commentary: Now, more than ever, we should usher in the return of the citizen legislator. It is finally time that we impose term limits on members of Congress. Politicians should go to Washington, do their best, and then come home to live under the laws they’ve passed. It’s just ...

Washington Examiner: 1,800 illegal-immigration cases per judge after case backlog surges above 500,000

There are a whopping 500,000 pending illegal-immigration cases that, divided between the 273 Justice Department immigration lawyers, amount to more than 1,800 cases per judge. The Washington Examiner has the details: The number has surged even as the administration has added a handful more judges. The current ratio is 1,819 cases per judge... But the sheer numbers have forced a huge delay. It currently takes nearly two years — 672 days — for a case to get to court. During that time, the illegals are allowed into the country and several reports show that they rarely make their court date. The Center for Immigration Studies said in ...
