A nationwide student walkout is happening all across the country on Wednesday — but this time it isn't to protest gun violence and push for new laws, it's in support of second amendment rights. Students at two high schools in Missouri planned to walk out of class at 10 a.m. this morning over guns. Unlike past walkouts, however, these students are demonstrating in support of gun rights and the Second Amendment. The event was organized by Will Riley, a high school senior from Carlsbad, New Mexico. KOIN Portland: Tigard HS takes part in ‘Stand for the Second’

Students at Tigard High School, along with several other schools, walked out of class Wednesday morning in support of the national Stand for the Second walkout. Stand for the Second is a "student-led, student-driven movement" at high schools across the country to support gun rights. At 9:55 a.m., up to 100 students gathered outside of the school with a few students carrying flags across the parking lot. They stayed outside for 16 minutes.
