Graham-Cassidy bill builds momentum

With a September 30 deadline looming, the clock is ticking and lawmakers are working to gain support for legislation that would do SOMETHING to provide relief from ObamaCare. The Graham-Cassidy bill, sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA), would remove the individual and employer mandates and shift as much control and funds as possible to the states rather than the federal government. While this falls short of our organization’s goal to fully repeal ObamaCare, our supporters have voted for Tea Party Patriots to support it as a first step on the road to full repeal of ObamaCare.

The Hill has the latest on the whip count in the Senate:

Cassidy has said he thinks they are just shy of the votes needed for passage.

Cassidy and Graham have been working to get the support of the three Republican senators who voted against the last repeal measure in July: John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine.)

All are undecided on the new legislation. Graham on Tuesday said he is “feeling good” about McCain’s position, but said he would let the senator speak for himself.

After 7 years of promising the American people they would repeal ObamaCare, Congressional Republicans should take the first step toward full repeal by passing the Graham-Cassidy bill Click here to learn more about the bill and how it will provide partial relief from ObamaCare. To see how difficult the decision was to support this legislation, see the two statements we put out about it here and here.
