Memo from Jenny Beth Martin Addressing Tea Party Patriots’ Involvement Fighting Amnesty

In light of a recent article that appeared on Breitbart News entitled “Tea Party Patriots Co-Founder Encourages Conservatives to Give Rubio Chance to Implement Immigration Agenda,” it is necessary to correct the record about our organization’s deep commitment over the past few years to preventing amnesty and defending the rule of law. The background story behind that Breitbart piece is that I wrote a short op-ed for USA Today in which I defended politicians who change their minds. USA Today requested the article and specifically asked for a defense of the concept of “flip-flopping” by politicians. The paper asked me to reflect on both ...

Jenny Beth Martin Voices Her Opposition to the Iran Nuclear “Deal”

Last week I joined Senator Ted Cruz, Congressman Louie Gohmert, and others at a press event in Senator Cruz’s office to voice our concerns over President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran. My original reservations about this deal were based on the fact that the President was rushing the deal to the United Nations before Congress even had a chance to review the agreement. In my mind, the only thing that is keeping this from being a treaty is the fact that the Administration refuses to call it a treaty. If it walks like a treaty and talks like a treaty, then it should be handled as a treaty and be subject to authorization by no less than two thirds of ...

Jenny Beth Martin speaks at the Capitol Building.

This week has been a very busy one for Tea Party Patriots. Earlier this week Tea Party Patriots joined Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Mike Lee, Congressman Jim Jordan, Bill Flores, Senate Conservatives Fund, Heritage Action, and Club for Growth outside the Capitol building urging Congressional leadership to resist the temptation of reviving the Export-Import bank.  I appreciate these Members of Congress taking the lead in this fight. The lapse of the bank's charter earlier this year was a victory for our movement. It is critical we remain vigilant on this issue because leadership in Congress is working to reauthorize the bank. Out of $2.2 trillion ...

Jenny Beth Martin at the Western Conservative Summit

This past weekend I was in Denver, CO for the Western Conservative Summit. I wanted to take a quick moment to update Tea Party Patriots supporters about the event, and about our upcoming Yellow Card Project. You can also read the text from the speech that I gave during the Summit Grand Opening here.

The Freedom Thieves are Trying to Punish YOU

Having just returned from meetings with a few Congressmen on Capitol Hill, I felt it was important to give you an update. I will touch on what I mean by "freedom thieves" later in this email, but first I want to focus on our allies on Capitol Hill. Know this, that you have made a difference in the last 3 weeks. You helped amend the Patriot Act with Senator Lee's USA Freedom Act to stop the bulk metadata collection on US citizens, 34 House members voted no on the rule for TPA "fast track authority," you visited over 500 Congressional offices representing 10 Senators and 291 Congressmen last week calling for an end to the Congressional Exemption from ...

Jenny Beth Martin visits her Congressman

This past Wednesday, while Patriots all over the country rallied at their Congressmen and Senators offices to urge them to co-sponsor the 'No Washington Exemption from Obamacare' Act, I did the same. Before I went into my Congressman's office I wanted to take a quick moment to thank my fellow patriots elsewhere for helping me put pressure on our elected officials to end the Congressional exemption to Obamacare.

TPP joins Citizens United to host SC Freedom Summit

Jenny Beth addresses the crowd as Citizens United founder David Bossie looks on Tea Party Patriots was proud to join Freedom Works in co-sponsoring the Freedom Summit in Greenville, South Carolina May 9. Activists from all over the Palmetto State convened at the Peace Center, where they heard from a Who’s Who of declared and potential GOP presidential candidates. TPP was pleased to treat everyone – more than 2,000 attendees – to a delicious lunch from Chick-Fil-A. With South Carolina’s hosting the first-in-the-South primary next year, the state will see intense campaigning as candidates seek to stake out the most conservative ground. TPP ...
