Atlanta, GA – Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin responds to President Trump’s Address on the humanitarian and national security crisis at the Southern Border from the Oval Office.

”Tonight, President Trump addressed the nation and assured the American people that he is determined to keep his promise to secure our southern border and keep our country safe.  It is unfortunate that the nation is faced with a humanitarian and national security crisis of this magnitude — ‘a crisis of the heart and a crisis of the soul’ — but I have been to the border, and I can tell you, it IS a crisis. The Democrats’ response? Denial that there is a crisis at all, refusal to fund proper border security, and demands that the president ignore his responsibilities to secure the country and instead reopen the government. Rather than worry about innocent Americans who are victims of crime caused by illegal immigrants, they are worried about a small segment of the American population that happens to work for the federal government. They are prioritizing government workers’ paychecks over American citizens’ security.  Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi must realize that our country is in danger and must not continue to hinder efforts to address the crisis and give law enforcement officials and agents the tools they need to end this crisis.  It is now time for Americans to call on their Congressmen and Senators and demand they keep their promise to put Americans first and protect our borders.”
