Exempting America – Where We Stand Today
It’s been one heck of a week, Patriots. The House leadership finally listened to the grassroots, and today the House will be sending a full, permanent defunding of Obamacare to the Senate.
Yesterday, Senator Tex Cruz (R-TX) took some flak for saying the House’s bill will likely be drastically changed in the Senate, and then sent back to the House, where conservatives would have to stand strong against the Senate’s pressure. Mainstream, liberal, and establishment media scandalized the statement, saying Senator Cruz was disingenuous about efforts he would make to defund the law in the Senate.
Senator Cruz was, in fact, correct. Pressure is largely on the House. This is the chamber with Republican control, and is far more influenced by fiscal conservatives. The Senate, which has a Democratic majority, is highly unlikely to defund Obamacare, though grassroots pressure could change this. As of right now, it looks like the Senate may strip the defunding and send a so-called “clean” CR back to the House a couple of days before the new fiscal year starts – hoping the House will capitulate and fund Obamacare.
This is where men are made. Will Speaker Boehner cave, or stand with fiscal conservatives? His caucus stands with the majority of America, who are against Obamacare’s rationing, higher taxes, and special interest treatment. The question that should be on the lips of all Americans is a simple one: Are Senator Reid (R-NV) and President Obama so committed to crippling Average Joe and Jane American they will shut down the government to save their failed law?
In order for this effort to work, We the People need to tell the Senate to stand with us. And we must tell our neighbors what the mainstream media will not: that the President should value a functioning government over his monstrous, train wreck law. If he does not, the American people will hold him accountable.
