Like I said before, higher courts have ruled on the validity of the Obama's birth certificate and the Arizona Secretary of State has already apologized to Hawaii for requesting verification on birth certificate. That was the major problem with the Corvair. By 1967, mostly due to Nader's prodding, GM was building a very decent little car. Unfortunately, America wasn't buying it. This coming from the owner of a 1973 Vega Station Wagon.

Get real people. A four star general in command of an army in the field does not do ANYTHING secretly, especially in time of war. He would have to be accessible to the President at all times. The President was probably informed of the meeting before the General left for the meeting, IF the meeting ever actually took place.

As far as his resignation and the Banghazi affair, the General can STILL testify in a closed session. The Congress discusses classified material all the time.

In the late 1970s, I heard Ralph Nader speak at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Ralph Nader did some good stuff in his early days and did probably help improve automobile safety. See his book, "Unsafe at Any Speed".

Ralph Nader did make one very good observation about political life in this country. He said that mass marches on Washington are a MASSIVE waste of time and resources. IF you successfully organize a mass rally in Washington, the politicians will make note of it, say nice things about it, and might come down at address the crowd next to a TV personality (Glenn Beck for example.). Then everybody goes home and NOTHING comes of it.

Ralph Nader continued by saying, thing of all the money and time spent. Buses, airfare, hotel, food, etc, along with the planning and organization that went into the mass rally. Ralph continued by saying think what would happen if all of this money, resources, and effort were put into local campaigns at all levels. Instead of going to Washington as a protestor, start working in your community to send CAPABLE, like minded individuals to your City Council, County Commission, State Legislature, and US Congress.

This is a far better, more productive path, than going off to Jackson MS to continue tilting at the windmind of Barack Obama's birth certificate.

Think about it and don't be SQUARE!

Would you have supported Barry Goldwater for President. He was born in the Arizona TERRITORY in 1909?

Cruising around the Honolulu Star Advertiser's web site, I found the following articles:

http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/152721935.html?id=152721935

http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/20110408__Appeals_court_turns_away_lawsuit_seeking_Obama_birth_certificate.html?id=119461889

The Birth Certificate is real. The court challenges have already failed. The Arizona Secretary of State has already apologized for requesting verification of the birth certificate from Hawaii. What else do you want?

Urging people to race down to Jackson MS to attend a court hearing that will probably be dismissed in five minutes is AT BEST an exercise in futility. What NEW evidence will be brought and by WHOM will this evidence presented such that the judge in this case will overturn the running of courts in another district?

You are just beating a VERY DEAD horse and not matter how hard you want that VERY DEAD horse to get up and run some more, it will not do it!

I will take your word for it that you would not have support Arnold for President. I did ask that question. Thank you for that answer.

Go look at NEW POST, Ralph Nader is RIGHT!

Our Constitution stops at our border. If the US does not wish to participate in International Law, fine. BUT, then the US needs to stop ENFORCING international law on other nations. So if ethnic cleansing is going on in Darfur, so what! Iran and North Korean want a nuke. Who cares. If we, the US and its NATO allies go in Yugoslavia to stop ethnic cleansing, we did it under the framework of international law. Otherwise we are just the neighborhood bully who whips other peoples kids for what he thinks is misbehavior without any permission.

If you are going to ENFORCE it, you have to LIVE by it too.

Deriving political power from the consent of the people only works while the power structure permits its or as long as the people are in line with the power structure. Famous example of that is the outlawing of the Communist Party and the loyality oaths of the 1950s, WHICH btw my dear mother REFUSED to sign!

Paul Everitt posted a new activity comment I became an ex-Republican because of Gulf War I. This was at least supported by the framework of the UN with broad multinational support and involved one recognized nation attempting to annex another. It would be much more difficult to bring war crimes charges based on that framework.

The Invasion of Iraq did not have this framework and is a much clearer case. Should it be succesfully prosecuted, Obama could have some explaining to do as well for not immediately ending the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

All the other responsible Presidents are dead and prosecuting them would be pretty meaningless. Having the United States actually JOIN the International Criminal Court would give us a lot of validity on the world stage too. We want the ICC to enforce international law on others. It just appears that we do not want to live under that same standard.

Resending the War Powers Act would go a LONG way to ending these sorts of activities.

I have handled a weapon before and if I can see my target, I will hit my target. The last time I was held up at gun point and the man said, "Don't do anything now, cause I'll kill you. It don't matter to me if I kill you." he was wearing pieces of a US ARMY uniform.

In case your calendar is defective, the US invasion of Iraq started on March 22, 2003. The attack in Banghazi took place on September 11, 2012. After this happened, the local Lybians burned down the compound of those responsible. However, this does not answer the basic question of how do the events of September 11, 2012 justify the criminal, terrorist actions of GW Bush on March 22, 2003?

You attack me with insults and do not answer the questions that I raised about our country's actions in Iraq. That is how most people react when I raise these questions. That tells me that I am correct in all my assumptions about our invasion of Iraq. While people revile me for my position, they can NOT seem to explain to me where I am wrong. Care to give that a try?

The Pan Am Flight 103 bombing would have been enough to go to war with Libya all by itself! The world needs to decide what is legal and illegal in this days and times.

With regards to the UN and the attack on Iraq:

To paraphrase GW Bush, The United States does not need the UN's permission to defend itself. So if Adolf Hitler had gotten permission from the League of Nations to annex the Polish Corridor, would that have made it alright? We, the United States, Great Britain, Nationalist China, France, and the Soviet Union prosecuted the German leadership for the invasion of Poland. The first two protocols are separate from the crimes against Humanity.

My WHOLE point is that if WE, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, set and impose standards of conduct on the leaders of other nations, WE, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA should respect and live by the standards that we set!

I am of the strongest possible belief that the Iraq war was GW Bush using the US Military to settle a personal score with Saddam Hussein.

Most local government offices in Colorado are non partisan. You don't have a Democrat or Republican mayor. You just have a mayor. Most people let the government do its thing until they are annoyed by something or need something.

A FREE and RESPONSIBLE people should govern themselves like this: Who is interested in being (fill in the blank), for the sake of argument, I will say City Councilor? The City I work for has a weak Mayor system and the Mayor is elected by the City Council from among the City Councilors. The Mayor is the tie breaker, chairs the meetings, signs the bills, and has certain limited emergency powers. Citizens should then come to the government and say, "What needs doing?" and "How can we help?"

We need volunteers at the Library and the Homework Center.
Meals on Wheels needs delivery drivers.
The Food Bank needs to replenish its shelves.
The parks need to have a clean up day.
We are planting trees and removing weeds from the Open Space.
etc. etc. etc.

Organize this kind of Political Party that says, "How can we help?"
With the "You're doing it wrong!" with no idea of what "Right" is and you have the US Political landscape of today.

It is like the old saying goes, if you are not part of the solution, you are probably part of the problem.

Never signed up for unemployment AND never will.
Never signed up for welfare or food stamps.
DID get an FHA mortgage on my condo. Paid my mortgage on time too.

I withheld my vote from Obama because he has been too combative and had not closed Gitmo as he promised he would. I withheld my vote from Romney because I could not find a reason to vote FOR him. I figured that his fiscal policies, "The rich can afford to pay more taxes." was not what I wanted to hear. I voted for Steve Forbes in the primaries TWICE to support a flat tax rate and STILL carry my original Reform Party membership card.

Congress does this all the time. Oliver North had his convictions overturned on the grounds that he was given blanket immunity for his testimony. Moral of this story: If you are guilty of anything and are given blanket immunity for your testimony at any point, confess to EVERYTHING that you have every done and you can't be prosecuted for it, citing the Oliver North case.

Bush arrested for war crimes in Iraq. Richard Chaney, Donald Rumfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz are expected to be detained soon.

This is the headline I am waiting to see. The United States of America, under the leadership of George W. Bush did, without a declaration of war, invade Iraq. This is in violation of the first two protocols of the Nuremburg Tribunal.

Protocol 1: Conspiracy to commit breach of peace.
Protocol 2: Breach of peace.

This all had to do with the invasion of Poland. Some will argue that our action is Iraq is far closer to the Germany subjugation of Hungary as opposed to the annexation of Polish terrority by Germany.

Many older Americans still look at Japan with great distaint because of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Unlike the United States attack on Iraq:

Japan was in the process of delivering a declaration of war at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack.
Japan attacked a military target.

The United States of America, on the other hand, attacked Iraq without a declaration of war and still has not issued a declaration of war. Hence this attack is a criminal attack on the scale of a home invasion.

The United States of America, during Shock and Awe, attacked a civilian housing area with the intention of killing Iraqi leadership.

It is reported that two weeks prior to the start of "Shock and Awe" that a United States Air Force B1-B bomber penetrated Iraqi airspace and bombed a restaurant in hopes of killing Iraqi leadership. 12 civilians were killed in that raid and so far no one, United States citizen or any other, has been prosecuted for these deaths. This attempt to kill Iraqi leadership was in clear violation of the 1976 law, signed by Gerald R. Ford, that prohibits the assassination of foreign leaders.

The above reasons are why I originally voted for Barack Obama in 2008.

I became an EX-REPUBLICAN when George H. W. Bush fabricated a war in Iraq to improve his re-election campaign chances.

Paul Everitt posted a new activity comment Craig, another great comment. You and I could have a very interesting weekend discussing the issues of the day.

I am a small business owner. I also have a part time job as my business is seasonal. The reason the economy is all screwed up are two things, both of which I will explain:

1. There is no credit available.

2. No good deed goes unpunished, no bad deed goes unrewarded.

1. With interest rates at ZERO, all the money is going to Treasury Bills/Bonds because no one wants to take a risk and lend capital. I have business expenses on a credit card and pay 30% interest. I have a company vehicle that is FULLY paid for and is worth about $18,000. I went to the local credit union to get a car loan so I could reallocate to other parts of the business. I asked for a $12,000 loan, as a first mortgage, on this car and was turned down. People with 90% equity in their homes were turned downed for home loans. People with 750 credit rating could not get car loans. Like I said, my business is cyclical and I can't get a business loan. This same problem goes up the business food chain.

Looking to your employer to provide you a living is a fool's errand in this decade. We will ALL become contract labor. One of the theories in Business School is should a company have any employees BESIDES the CEO and the Chairman of the Board, which are often one in the same person. Everybody works through the temp agency and the TEMP agency is responsible for all the government stuff and keeping up with the regulations. The government inspector walks in and says, "Do you have healthcare on all your employees?" The CEO answers, "Yes, I am covered by the company. All of these people work for XYZ Temp Agency here at this company. Other than myself, this company has no other employees. You will need to ask XYZ Temp Agency how they handle that." The government inspector says, "Oh, I see. Since they are temps, they are exempt under the rules, so no problem here."

2. Cash for clunkers and Mortgage write downs.

I owned a 1993 Dodge Dynasty with 151K miles on it. Since I had no purchased a gas guzzling redneck mobile in 1994, I did not qualify for Cash for Clunkers. Honda was the big beneficiary of that program. If you took part in Cash for Clunkers YOU are also part of the problem.

Mortgage write downs. This will cause ALL kinds of problems in the future when the government can intervene in private contracts. You bought a house and it went down in "value". You whine and complain and get the government to knock $100K off of your loan amount. However, the Singapore bank that owns that mortgage disagrees. Your property gets tied up in a long legal battle.

Meanwhile, the person who rents, does not get a write down, but only sees the rent going up due to increased demand. If you took part most of these mortgage programs, you are also part of the problem.

GW Bush started a lot of this mortgage mess and Obama just continued it on.

Paul Everitt posted a new activity comment Thanks again for another great comment. In Colorado to run for Congress as an Independent I have to gather 800 signatures of voters registered in my District. For major party candidates, I believe the number is 1500 for Congress. The State of Colorado has different numbers of signatures required for different offices. When I ran for Town Trustee, I only needed 10 registered voters to sign my paperwork. You have to have both in Colorado, but the filing fees are around $500 for a state wide office. For a serious candidate, that filiing fee is a non issue. If the filing fee is an issue, then you are probably not a serious candidate.

If SQUARE said that they would going to validate ALL of the Presidential candidates on the ballot, I would say fine. Funny how only the black guy has his qualifications questioned. This should not be taken before a JUDGE first, it should go to the Secretary of State of the State of Mississippi first. For Obama to be unqualified for office, ALL the Secretaries of State would have to go along with it and allow an unqualified candidate on the ballot.

Qualify EVERYBODY or qualify nobody! Just saying.
