Another Power Grab by our Ruler and Chief – and this time it is for the good of our Oceans and Great Lakes, he signed another Executive Order (memo) which means with the Living & Breathing Constitution it is now law. We are getting that transformational change alright.. And keep in mind it is all about the ‘well-being’ of us all! At least this time we are not in a “crises” because that is when a government official can really get things done and do some REAL GOOD for us all!

President Obama recognizes that America’s stewardship of the ocean, our coasts, and the Great Lakes is intimately linked to national prosperity, environmental sustainability, human health and well-being, adaptation to climate and other environmental change, social justice, foreign policy, and national and homeland security. The Executive Order adopts a National Policy that includes a set of overarching guiding principles for management decisions and actions toward achieving the vision of “an America whose stewardship ensures that the ocean, our coasts, and the Great Lakes are healthy and resilient, safe and productive, and understood and treasured so as to promote the well-being, prosperity, and security of present and future generations.”

I am sure for those of you who watch or listen to the Mainstream News this is not news, Obama signed the Executive Order on Monday creating a ‘national stewardship policy’ for our Oceans and Great Lakes – of course it is total federal government control and it does include offshore drilling, fishing and all other marine activities like for instance water runoff.. Man I am sure glad I don’t live by a city near an Ocean or Great Lake because this could really raise the cost of everything, yes the Feds will control all marine activity including above and beyond what goes into the lakes like rain water after it has ran off the parking lot, just think of all those pollutants. It is for our own good and will of course take a great deal of resources ($$) to operate something so big.

Marine Spatial Planning and Zoning – I am sure any fisherman worth his salt knows all about Spatial Planning and if the poor sap does not know about it he will soon.. Just keep in mind when you are paying the big fine it is all for our own good. So if the Great Lakes Regional Body decides of course they work for the Interior Department.. if they decide that they want to block off some prime fishing area for a Wind Farm and not allow fishing in that spatial zone it is done and done without Congress but who needs them, they are slow and besides over the last 90 years replaced themselves with the Administrative Branch, Interior Department, EPA…. So that way all our President has to do is sign a memo or an executive order and presto bingo it is law – see how that living and breathing constitution works – it streamlines the entire process. Besides President Obama is in a hurry and just can’t wait for Congress.

Of course in Southern California they are very focused on ‘ecosystem based management’ – what does that mean – well it means higher taxes for us all when Obama’s Navy must retool its fleet deployment making sure the water quality is just right for all of those whales – see Obama is even concerned about the whales is he not munificent? Yes, The Administration has indicated vast changes will come bringing RADICAL changes to how Americans use the Oceans. They acknowledge that it will affect resource development, fishing and tourism – darn it I was going to start up a charter company and buy a big boat – now I will have to wait to see if Obama gets re-elected.. What about those Golf Courses near the Ocean – well two hundred years ago they did not exist and only rich people use them anyway – when was the last time you saw a welfare mother on a golf course? Another four years of Obama and we will see some real hope and change.. and yes we will see how the rest of the world lives..
