Israel and Iran. That is all I hear about in the US news coming from the Middle East apart from Syria.
Let me give you a different perspective on the issue. The real cold desert war in the Middle East is the Arab Gulf States vs Iran and the Shites. Israel is a sideshow. None of the Arab Gulf States worry about Israel.

Syria: a proxy war between Iran [Shites] on one side and the Arab Gulf States [Sunni] on the other side. Having begun the show, the Syrian people are now tossed to the side as slaughter .
