”Jenny Beth Martin- National TEA Party Patriots Leader Meets With Local TEA Parties”

”WNC TEA Party members energized by political action training”

Asheville North Carolina, August 4, 2012—Eight Jackson County residents met Saturday in South Asheville with National TEA Party leader Jenny Beth Martin and 34 other TEA Party leaders from western North Carolina to discuss the final months leading to the November election. Tea Party leaders learned organizational skills and how to manage a winning campaign.

Ryan Adams, a Leadership Institute representative from Virginia, made it clear that it is the activist’s responsibility to provide the needed information that people of all ages are interested in so they can make informed political judgments. Uses of ‘Social Media’ and building an effective political organization were presented.

Becki Gray of the John Locke Foundation, a non-partisan policy group, addressed the attendees updating them on North Carolina’s General Assembly and gave a legislative look ahead. Education, taxes and budgetary items were the focus of the conversation. Gray stated that ”for years North Carolina has wondered what conservative leadership would look like in the state.” She then detailed the policy issues that have been addressed by this more conservative General Assembly.

The John Locke Foundation’s inspiration is derived from the Constitution – this has been their guiding document for 22 years. They do not endorse candidates–they work with candidates on policy issues specific to North Carolina. Their publication, Carolina Journal, is an example of state based investigative reporting that has been responsible for exposing criminal activity by our elected officials.

Phillip Dennis, a founding member of the Dallas Tea Party and Tea Party Patriots National Team, closed with the rally cry: ”Be Bold. We are the last hope for the future of our country. That is what your TEA party wants to hear from you.”

The Leadership Institute offers quality webinars in addition to on site training and internships. The Saturday ‘Communications Workshop’ was designed to help people better connect. ”This was an exceptionally informative and motivating seminar” stated Ginny Jahrmarkt of the Tea Party Patriots.

Thank you TPP National for making this happen. DSC05374
