“Flag Day rally by JC Tea Party Patriots brings out crowd.”

Sylva, June 14, 2012— On Thursday June 14 Tea Party Patriots from all over Jackson County turned out in Sylva to proudly display the American flag at the intersection of Highway 107 and Business 23 in Sylva. Over twenty members of the local political group waved American and Gadsden (‘Don’t Tread On Me’) flags to passing motorists and gave away small American flags to grateful drivers.

“This is a part of the personal responsibility that we have to the younger generation—that we, the people need to educate our children to the history of the U.S., and the pride that we have in it” said Ginny Jahrmarkt, one of the organizers of the rally.

Tea Party members displayed homemade signs with patriotic themes and waved flags as rush hour traffic passed through town. Larry Gardner, a Tea Party member said, “I’m proud of America and the men and women who have fought for this flag. I believe in coming out here and showing support for our country is the right thing to do.”

John Kummer of Sylva said, “Its important that people become aware that they do have a choice to be able to restore traditional American values like patriotism and loyalty to the republic which, unfortunately seems to have been abandoned here lately to a European-style socialist democracy.” “Its Flag Day. I’m proud to be an American and we all live in a great, free country and we need to keep it that way,” said Patti Dennis of Sylva.

The Tea Party Patriots of Jackson County was organized in the summer of 2010 to combat voter apathy and ignorance of our country’s founding values.

I am so happy to see you all out there! I could not do it this year as I had a campaign kick off for one of our Reps! Next year, at least, we should do it across the country! What do you think?
