We the People, of the Ontario County New York Tea Party strive to unite as our country did on September 12, 2001, bonded by faith in God, spirit of brotherhood, and courage that transcended all diversities. We seek this unity by aspiring to live by the 9 Principles and 12 Values and by embodying the spirit, ideals and intent of the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. It is through educating ourselves, our children and our fellow citizens on the Constitution and founding documents and by taking an active role in our Local, State and National Governments, that we will be able to protect our freedoms and restore our Republic to what our founding fathers intended…a government of the People, by the People and for the People.

The Ontario County Tea Party is a group dedicated to preserving the liberties and freedoms that we have traditionally enjoyed as Americans. The tea party movement is a movement comprised primarily of average American citizens of every color, race, and religion who are concerned with the political direction in which the United States appears to be moving. We the people of the OCTP support the tea party principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and a free market economic system.

We are privileged to be a part of the grassroots movement dedicated to educating and mobilizing other concerned Americans about the radical agenda of the Whitehouse and Congress and the systematic dismantling of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

We are New York Americans who value American heritage, rule of law set forth by the Constitution, and the American entrepreneurial spirit. Orange-Sullivan Tea Party is a diverse group of citizens of the Hudson Valley Region, whose purpose is threefold. First, we seek to bring AWARENESS to the community through protest/rallies and community events. Second, we provide a welcoming place to EDUCATE those in our communities about the role of government and our responsibility as citizens to participate. We will do this through our monthly meetings, special speakers and seminars, and right now, through our candidate forums. Third, we promote ACTIVISM. We realize that the 9-12/Tea Party movement will falter without grassroots activity at the local level. We also realize that with real passion for America and committed activism the movement will continue to be a strong force for a return to constitutional principles. Orange-Sullivan Tea Party has proven to be an active voice in the community and state encouraging responsible leadership and citizenship through active engagement in the political process. Every year is a new election year with new candidates vying for local, state, and federal positions. These candidates are seeking the job of representing THE PEOPLE. As an act of good citizenship, THE PEOPLE must properly vet candidates and inform voters. In this way, we effect real reform.

Our group main focus is to work to make sure that in 2012 we elect a President and other elected officials who stands up for the Tea Party Patriots principals. We will build a community that will have an active role in the primaries that lead to that selection. We will also look to expand our membership to different parts of our community that might have an unfair negative opinion of this movement.
