Vanderburgh County Tea Party Patriots Statement of Purpose: Vanderburgh County Tea Party Patriots is a conservative, grassroots organization of independent American citizens who place their trust in the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which are supported and explained by our Founders in The Federalist Papers. We share belief in the core values of fiscal responsibility within a capitalist economic system, constitutionally limited government in a representative republic, free markets, and traditional American cultural and moral values. We respect our flag and all it stands for – individual freedoms that guarantee ordered Liberty in a Nation of Laws, not of men. We honor our Founding Fathers and their intent for a country birthed in Liberty, and will vigilantly stand to defend it from all forces of Tyranny. We assemble because of mutual concern for the future of our beloved country and we, as Patriots, will strive to preserve its foundations and restore our constitutional republic. Vanderburgh County Tea Party Patriots is non-partisan and not affiliated with any political party. We are associated with Tea Party Patriots, Inc., a national collection of grassroots Tea Party groups that share common core values and stand to defend our Constitution.

Like many Americans, we believe in constitutional government that works for the people, not against them. We believe that big government is not what is best for the American people. We believe that spending money we do not have is no way to insure a future for ourselves. We believe that government of the people, by the people and for the people should not perish from this earth.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness--that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles." We the People are committed to the following: We follow the principles and ideas that the founding fathers placed in the original Constitution We believe in small government We believe in fiscal responsibility We believe in personal responsibility We believe in accountability for all of our elected officials We believe the people have the power and the responsibility to take an active role in securing this country for future generations We believe that the government works for the people We believe in the rights of each state in our union We believe that the government is an agent to the states

This site is for the citizens of Jennings County who want to get involved with the peaceful Tea Party movement that is sweeping the country. Our Goal is to raise awareness of the government take over of our society and the erosion of our freedoms. We can be found every Saturday from Noon to 2:00 PM at the city park standing for freedom.

"We the People" are dedicated to restoring the principles and values of the Constitution as given us by our Founding Fathers by being informed and actively involved in our country’s political process at the local, state and national levels.

Michiana 9/12 Project is a local grassroots non-partisan organization united to restore the principles and values our country was founded on (see also www.the912project.com). The group currently has over 600+ families in the michiana area, and sponsors events and campaigns to make a positive impact on our area and country

"We" are a group dedicated to the preservation of the greatest experimental government known to mankind. That experiment is the United States of America. By divine providence this is the greatest sustaining government to have ever been practiced. We are all of different walks of life, different political affiliations, and different creeds. However there is a cohesive element to our group, we are "We The People". We are the people that the founding fathers were describing when they wrote the constitution. Because of who we are, we have similar beliefs. Those beliefs that we stand on as our core are referred to here as as The 9/12 Project. They are 9 Principles and 12 Values. 9/12 also stands for September the 12th, 2001. We need to be September 12th minded people. Almost everyone can remember where we were, what we were doing on 9-11-01. Do you remember who you were on 9-12? You were different, the country was different. We didn't care about Republicans and Democrats, just that we were Americans and we needed each other. We would have stood and fought anything on that day that would have stepped on our liberties and our rights. We would have done it side by side each other with arms locked together. We are still those people, we just need to get in touch with those feelings again. Since then, we have moved on from those feelings. The government has gone back to be being the way it was. They are still trying to stand on us and grow themselves to the point that 10 generations from now will feel the pain of this generation. We need to say "enough!" with the status quo in Washington. We need to let them know that we are still united. We are not loners. We are not alone, They (the government) do not surround us! We Surround Them! We are a special interest group, we are the American People, we are "WE THE PEOPLE". Come join us if you want to make a difference in the local, state and Federal levels of our governments. This is not a party controlled group and will not be in the future. We are conservative minded individuals that are upholding principles and values and checking ourselves and others against those values. We will be heard, we will be noticed. WAKE UP AMERICA! I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington 4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is known. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson 5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it. Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson 6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington 9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. We are dedicated to the preservation of our Constitution and Traditional Family Values.

Our Mission: To unite like-minded persons eager to effectively impact our elected representatives at all levels of government. “We the People” want to eliminate corruption, wasteful spending, burdensome taxes, and take back America by promoting the values of our Founding Fathers expressed by a strict construction of the United States Constitution. We will be serving as citizen watchdogs at the local, state, and national levels, keeping the principles of our Founding Fathers at the forefront.

We are the Young Americans for Liberty (YAL). As Americans we recognize the God-given natural rights of life, liberty, and property set forth by our Founding Fathers. Our country was created to protect the freedoms of the individual and to be directed by “we the people”. We recognize that freedom deserves responsibility and therefore we hold ourselves to a high moral character and conduct. Integrity emphasizes our stance towards action. Principle defines our outlook towards government. Peace and prosperity drives our ambitions towards our countrymen. We inherit a corrupt, coercive world that has lost respect for voluntary action. Our government has failed and dragged our country into moral decay. The political class dominates the agenda with a violent, callous, controlling grip. And, for this we do not stand. We welcome limited government conservatives, classic liberals, and libertarians who trust in the creed we set forth. We, as Young Americans for Liberty believe: That government is the negation of liberty; That voluntary action is the only ethical behavior; That respect for the individual's property is fundamental to a peaceful society; That violent action is only warranted in defense of one's property, but peace is our primary law; That the individual owns his/her body and is therefore responsible for his/her actions; That society is a responsibility of the people, not the government.
