Anthony Mucciolo posted an update in the group Northeast Iowa Tea Party For those who hold out hope for real change, this will be well worth your reading, and sharing. Every member of the New Revitalized Republican Party, and every conservative and libertarian who aspire to run for the Congress and the Senate in 2014 will most likely defeat their counterparts if they adopt all or most of these positions as their platform. The people want us to run a positive campaign – telling them what we stand for, and what we will do to change the future of America – rather than lambasting our opponents.

These are the principles and covenants that WE, a people desirous of a limited federal government, MUST ADVOCATE: For example, what is our “Plan for reducing the tax burden?” Begin with advocating these first 5 positions:

1. financial responsibility and accountability insuring that all investments made with tax payer funds be examined and decided on the basis of a sound business plan, adequate capital investment of its partners and stock holders, and the expectation of long-term success; and further, that all profits, interest, earnings on property and securities from whatsoever source are proportioned back to the states and the taxpayers;
2. demanding and receiving from all nations to whom we provide security, payment for the expenses incurred by our government and its taxpayers to furnish them with our military personnel, equipment, ordinance, and safe quarters while on their lands; and to further insure the paid medical care of all wounded in action both short term and permanent, coupled with a sustainable monthly allowance to support their families, and paying a delegated amount to the families of all killed in action, or as a result of being stationed on their land;
3. imposing work demands upon all prisoners sentenced to incarceration for more than 90 days, to provide for their detention expenses, daily necessities, and to provide for the welfare of their dependents; actions that will greatly diminish the tax burden on the American people;
4. taxation on the purchase and consumption of goods rather than personal or business incomes, a principle supported by Alexander Hamilton in the 14th Federalist paper;
5. eliminate the Department of Education and restore to the states their proper right to exercise full oversight and controls over the education and curricula of all educational institutions within its jurisdictions;

6. restoration of religious expressions and practice without hindrance;
7. the right to bear arms in every city and state in the union for our self protection without unnecessary restraint and limitation, for the purpose of securing our persons and property from both foreign and domestic terrorism and threats; excepting only the right to disarm those who are, or become, members of known and recognized terrorist groups and gangs;
8. the security as before provided for all generations in the Bill of Rights, and a government transparent to, and accountable to, the people and Congress of the United States.
9. that all laws, regulations, taxes, and restrictions imposed on the citizens must be equally obligatory and enforceable on every member and employee of the federal government and its assigns without exception.

These policy positions are firmly embodied in the duties, obligations, and responsibilities inherent in the laws of fiduciary responsibility and trusteeship which was made incumbent upon the federal government when our forefathers “vested” certain cherished financial trusts, invaluable sovereign and sacred rights, and other “treasures” of great value to the states, they placed under its protections; whose duty it is to protect, defend, and secure these certain and valued rights and trusts committed to them and enumerated in the document we refer to as the Constitution of the United States.

Therefore, I submit to the peace-loving people of this district, and this state that no one entrenched in the foxholes of government domination is going to “give back” the rights they have usurped for their own enrichment. IT BECOMES THEREFORE, ENCUMBENT UPON US, the Common People, TO REPLACE those in the Congress and Senate who have not left their secure foxholes, have not condemned the usurpation of the people’s rights and liberties, have not attempted to restrain the appropriation of additional powers from the states, and have not taken steps to limit the powers of the government, nor have begun to initiate action to restore our sacred rights, even those who have enriched themselves at the expense of the governed.

Of particular mention, we must examine the record of those who profess themselves to be conservative Republicans, and determine if they have STOOD THEIR GROUND in DEFIANCE of these illegal and unconstitutional acts, or caved in to the demands of this administration to further encroach upon and usurp our rights; and if it be determined they have not stood their ground in defense of the sacred trust committed to their keeping, THEY MUST, of NECESSITY, ALSO BE RESPLACED.

I am advocating for the election of individuals committed to supporting and defending the principles and the sacred confidence originally vested by our forefathers in the federal government: individuals who will engage in a strong, determined, yet peaceable means of restoring our government to its proper place of strength in matters foreign and domestic.

Of grave importance, they must immediately begin to create a stable environment aimed at alleviating the fears of the electorate who have begun to question the government’s loyalty to uphold the sacred fiduciary trust delegated to it by the people.

It is reported that our government is preparing the military and police for a national revolt. If this is true, I submit that the fear and apprehension within the hearts of Americans losing hope of a bright and successful future for themselves and their children is well documented by the administration. Otherwise, why the preparation? But should a government wary of revolt prepare to kill its own citizens instead of making the changes necessary to promote the peace and general welfare of its citizens? Is our government going to mimic the insufferable tragedies upon us that King Assad of Syria, is waging against his own people -choosing to kill his own people rather than give way to progressive change? Is this the future we envision for ourselves and our loved ones?

Revolution may be at our doorsteps, but do we welcome it? Do we support an uprising that will devastate our nation and bring death and misery to its citizens; or do we make every attempt to deter violence and put the people at rest? We must breathe the fresh air of a legitimate hope and change policy in an attempt to restore the hope that our government will be restored. That our policies will bring about economic recovery and stability, a definite increase in employment opportunities, lower taxes, and establishing the bond of unity between a people that have been so divided against each other. This is the only way that I know of to avoid the much anticipated bloodshed.

Once again, the weight and burden is upon us, the people, to vote the opportunists out of office and to vote those among us into office who share our core values and virtues, and who desire the blessings of God upon our nation and our children to the third and fourth generations of those who believe in Him.

I have presented a peaceable plan of action that will not advance the violence the government is anticipating. As Congressman Paul Ryan was known to say many times, “WE CAN DO THIS!”

A major portion of this text was taken from a speech I gave before a Republican assembly when I ran for Congress in 1986. It was a message out of time, and will undoubtedly have a far greater influence if I were to give it today. Nevertheless, it is a positive message, and while we may make certain statements to point out the actions of those in government, we must refrain from using names and deliberate personal attacks. This is what we all desire, “Tell me what YOU are going to do to make a difference – We already know what the other isn’t doing, or DID!”

I would be more than honored to see the essence of this message being proclaimed by every candidate running for office in 2014, because I believe this message is timely, impossible to contradict or successfully dispute, and I am convinced if it is included in the platform of the New Revitalized Republican Party, the true Party of the People, it will result in many victories for Conservative Christians, Friends of Israel, and people of virtue of all faiths. If called upon, I would be honored to present this message personally before the citizens of your communities. But, it is far more important, of grave importance, to get this message into the hands of those who would be faithful candidates and elected officials for federal office in 2014. If you believe this is the message for today, then spread the word as quickly and with as much energy as you possess.

Let this be our charge, the conviction of our hearts, “We must have the majority in the Senate and in the House!”

Thank you and God bless all your efforts and successes.

Rev. Anthony Mucciolo
Though the elections did not go exactly as we had hoped there were still some very positive results. Statewide, the GOP was taken over by followers of Dr. Ron Paul and his Tea Party minded philosophies. The results of this are going to be interesting to watch and may put Iowa front and center in the revolution to return our Country to its Founding Principles. Closer to home, after a very lackluster preformance by the Winneshiek County Republican Party it was decided that there was a need to make some changes, so a committee was formed to make some recommendation. The committee that eventually met on the 16 January consisted entirely of members of the NEITP and spent three hours developing a blueprint to return the WCRP back to the ideals of republicanism better known as the core principles of the Tea Party. When the WCRP met on the 29 January, NEITP members were elected to the Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary positions and our reorganization plan was introduced. This included the creation on five new sub committees: financing/fundraising, advertising/marketing, nominations, candidate support and membership; a liason position to the Luther College Republicans; a support club similary to other Lincoln Clubs in other Counties(we are considering a Teddy Roosevelt Rough Riders Club) and a new County Platform. We also decided that in all we do we need to adhere to the Founding Principles of this Nation, republicanism and core principles of the Tea Party, which are really all one in the same. The past is behind us now and though we have learn from its mistakes we are not going to dwell on it. It is a new year, we have a new direction and as General George S. Patton once said, "we are not going to hold our ground, we will let the enemy try to do that as we steadily advance". Happy New Year to all and forward.

Both the Republican and Democratic candidates for Supervisor District 4, John Logsdon and Clark Goltz respectively, showed up (Ossian is in this district) as well as Mike Klimesh, Republican candidate for Iowa House District 55, his opponent Roger Thomas did not, Mike Brietbach, Republican candidate for Iowa Senate District 28, his opponent John Beard did not and a representative from the Ben Lange campaign. It was well attended by about 50 people with the majority of questions and time going to the two Supervisor candidates. It was cordial, informative and ran very well, Thanks Arlan.

Thomas Hansen posted an update in the group Northeast Iowa Tea Party We have been doing several things in the runup to the elections on the 6 November. We have and continue to do doorknocking for Mike Klimesh in the Decorah area. We, along with Luther College, were going to sponsor a candidates debate to be held at Luther College on the 2 October, for the First Congressional District, Iowa House District 55 and Iowa Senate District 28. Everything was all set when one of the candidates suggested involving the American Association of University Women to make the event less "partisan". We graciously agreed and invited the AAUW to be a sponsor only to be backstabbed by them. They called us too partisan to work with, used their influence with the college to get them to drop out citing that we were somehow treading on their sacred ground and then used what we had already set up to run their own forum. I published a letter to the editor in the Decorah Newspaper's Opinion section if you wish to learn more on the story. Not to be deterred, one of our members, Arlan Paulson, has set up an issues forum for the 8 October, starting at 6:30p.m. at the community center in Ossian, Iowa. This is the kind of individual commitment we need if we are going to change things. The NEITP has also scheduled two actual debates on the 18 and 23 of October at the Oaks Steakhouse in Decorah, both starting at 7:00p.m. They will feature Mike Klimesh and Roger Thomas, candidates for Iowa House District 55, at one and John Beard and Mike Brietsbach, candidates for Iowa Senate District 28 at the other. Candidates were sent five questions last month to be used at the debate and will each be given ten minutes to express their opinions, defend their views and actual debate their opponent. The event wil be moderated by Bob Holtan from KDEC radio and is scheduled to be broadcast live on the night of the events. I will also be trying to arrange a question and answer forum for the three candiates for my local supervisors district if I can find the time. That is all for now, please plan to attend these events and bring friends with you as this is all part of having an informed electorate.

Thomas Hansen posted an update in the group Northeast Iowa Tea Party Now that the election season is upon us, the Northeast Iowa Tea Party has gotten into full swing. We are currently supporting two candidates in the upcoming election. The first is Mike Klimesh, currently the mayor of Spillville, Iowa and owner of Graphic, Inc. in Calmar, Iowa who is now running for the Iowa House District 55 seat. He has been active in our group, supporting the Tea Party's three guiding principles in his capacity as Mayor and his two simple rules to live by; one: always leave things better than you found them and two: never ask someone to do something that you are not willing to do yourself certainly fits nicely into our agenda. His does have a Facebook page if you would like more information on him. The second candidate we are supporting is Ben Lange running for the First Congressional District. Ben will bring a youthful prespective along with his firm beliefs in our principles to Washington. He is not a polished politician but he is truthful and will tell you what he believes not what he thinks you want to hear. Considering that our principles are republican by nature dating all the way back to Thomas Jefferson's "Republican" party and since the Winneshiek County Republican Party seems to need a little help, we have also been attending their monthly meeting and assisting them with events. We helped them man their booth at the Winneshiek County Fair the second week in July; have participated in four parades around the county supplying workers for all four and the actual float in three of them (Thanks Mike and Darrel); will be doing doorknocking starting this Saturday, 11 August, 9 a.m. in West Union(meeting in the Hardee's parking lot); and Darrel Branhagen has even set up an unofficial Winneshiek County "Republican" page on Facebook. We also have two members, Jeanne and Ken, who have volunteered to go through our membership list, make phone calls and update the list as to what jobs people are willing to help us with. I also recently attended a meeting of the Winneshiek County Democrats to help spread the truth of what the Tea Party really stands for. Myself and others have found that when you stick to our three principles of a smaller less intrusive government, balancing our nation's checkbook and not destroying our free market system by letting the govenrment pick the winners and losers in the business world there is not a whole lot anyone can disagree with. A very big Thank You!! to all of you who have helped so far and hopefully we can wake more people up as time goes on and put America back on the right course. One step at a time, we are making a difference.

Thomas Hansen posted an update in the group Northeast Iowa Tea Party The Northeast Iowa Tea Party is starting to grow its roots. Two Republican candidates asked us for assistance in campaigning for the June 5 primary. Ben Lange, candidate for Congressional District 1, and Mike Klimesh, candidate for Iowa House District 55. Since we believe that both these candidates are sincere in their beliefs in support of our three guiding principles and putting the betterment of America's future first and foremost in their agenda, we actively supported them. Both of them won their primary races and we will now be putting our efforts forth in making sure they win the general election come November.
It was also decided in our May meeting that we would take the lead in providing a float for the various parades around Northeast Iowa this summer and that any candidates who support our principles would be welcome to put their campaign signs on it. Our first parade was Castalia Tractor Days on the 10 June and all went well. Darrel Branhagen brought his green tractor and trailer to the parade and Mike Klemish was there with about ten volunteers. We decorated it with banners, campaign signs, NEI Tea Party signs and two flags poles, one for an American flag and one for a Gadsden of course. It looked nice for our first float and we received many thumbs up from the crowd along the route. Hopefully as we get more people participating in our efforts, we will get more suggestion for improvements. I have already recieved one concerning an old school bell I have here on the ranch and will try to work it into the next float for Laura Ingals Wilder Days in Burr Oak Iowa on the 23-24 June. If anyone is interested in helping please contact me: e-mail is tomh501@yahoo.com; phone is (563)382-5406.
Darrel Branhagen has also taken the lead in creating a "Winneshiek County Republicans" page on Facebook which I am told is pretty good and contains pictures of the recent parade float. That is all for now. Hope to see you at the next parade or at the next meeting which wil be the 26 June; 7:30 p.m. in the basement of Mabes Pizza in Decorah. With the assurance of my gratitude to all of you who have given your time to our cause and of my commitment to it-----Thomas Hansen

The weatherman had been forecasting thunderstorms, hail and tornados for two days prior to the event but we decided to hold it anyway. About ten minutes before the event started, the sun broke through the clouds, the skies cleared and by the time it ended people were standing under the shade trees. Maybe someone thinks we are doing something right? The crowd was sparce at first but as the weather improved more people showed up to hear the candiates speak and to listen to David Boone from the Fair Tax Coalition. Everyone stayed around for some time afterwards to socialize and the day had alot of postive aspects to it, except being ignored again by the local newspaper. Oh well, slow but steady progress.

1.Welcome, introductions and brief discussion on attending Winneshiek County Republican meeting
2.Guest speaker Michael Klimesh who is running for the Iowa House District 55
Mike gave a good speach and answered questions with alot of details of ideas he has to bring jobs back to the state, ways to restructure Iowa's tax codes, provide funding for roads and bridges and returning our economy to the free market system. You may find out more about him by going to his campaign website:
http://www.klimeshforiowahouse.com
or e-mail him at:         mike@klimeshforiowahouse.com
Mike seemed honest, down to earth and someone that is not afraid to ruffle a few feathers while representing the interest of his constituents. Should make a good candiate.
3.Guest speakers David and his son Patrick Boone from a Tea Party group up by Spring Grove, Minnesota
Gave a speach about getting rid of the Income Tax and replacing it with a fair tax. Answered questions afterwards.
4. Dicussed Legislative Updates and Road to Repeal from TTP
5. Discussed upcoming Iowa Grass Roots Coalition(IAGRC) meeting in Marshalltown, Iowa on the 3 March. Said I was attending and anybody else that wanted to come was welcome to ride along.
6. Asked for volunteers to march for Ben Lange in St. Patrick's Days Parade in Waukon, Iowa on the 18 March
7.Reminded all who had signed up to be delegates, that Winneshiek County Republican Convention was on the 10 March. Stressed importance of being there.

Northeast Iowa Tea Party members, attended the monthly meeting of the Winneshiek County Republicans on the 21 February outnumbering the members of the local Republican Party. With us was Ben Lange, candidate for Congress in the newly created District 1 seat, who was given a chance to address the group. Even though not much else was discussed at the meeting except for preparation for the upcoming county convention, the look on the faces of the Republicans in response to all the new "attendees" was priceless! This was just the beginning though as many NITP members are registered as delegates to the county convention to be held on the 10 March with many expressing interest in going on to the district and state conventions. The Revolution continues to grow. Next monthly meeting for the NITP is set for the 28 February, starting at 7:30p.m. in the basement of Mabes Pizza in Decorah. Hope to see all of you there.

     Welcome, introductions, and discussion of priorities from Tea Party Patriots webinar in paricular the Legislative Updates;
a. EU Bank Bailouts and HR2313 to prevent them
b. S2038, the Stock Act and the House Restrict Act to prevent insider trading by members of Congress
PLEASE LOOK THESE UP AND CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTIVES
1.Decided to have tax day rally on Saturday the 14 April. Will meet on the steps of the Winneshiek County Courthouse at 1p.m. Looking for suggestions for more speakers and other actives for that day. If anyone has ideas please forward them to me.
2.Discussed caucuses and upcoming county convention. Was decided that if anyone had any planks that they would like to submit at the county convention, they would bring them to the next meeting. We are going to get the list of delagates for each precinct and try to form a Tea Party block at the convention so that we may get our planks introduced and passed.
3.Decided that we would meet upstairs at Mabes on the 21 February at 7:15p.m. and then proceed to the downstairs meeting room as a group to attend the Republican Party monthly meeting. Hope to have more of us than Republicans.
4.Dicussed Constitution Day. Everyone thought it very important for the schools to participate and did not like Decorah High School principle's attitude that she had nothing to discuss with us last September when we offered our help. Also noted that we should thank North Winneshiek School District for dedicating the entire second quarter this year to the study of the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, and all related documents.
5.Had discussion on creating a float for the area parades this summer. Suggestion for using eveything from a simple hay rack to a semi and trailer. Ideas to be brought to next meeting. Also agreed by all that it would be nice to have a booth at the Winneshiek County Fair this year, especially since it is an election year. Will discuss further also at next meeting.
6.Members told to pick topic from news for discussion at next months meeting and discussion on having a educational film to watch at monthly meetings.
7.Discussion on SR89 and need to contact Senators to support it. SR89 basically states that the citizens of the United States shall not cede their sovereignty to the United Nations when it comes to the upbringing of our children.
CONTACT YOUR SENATORS: Senator Harkin 202-224-3254; Senator Grassely 202-224-3744
8.Next monthy meeting: Tuesday the 28 February, 7:30p.m. downstairs meeting room at Mabes Pizza Decorah

That means for January it will be on the 31st, 7:30p.m. at Mabes Pizza in Decorah in the lower level meeting room. 2012 is going to be a important year in the history of our Country. In a free society the free exchange of ideas is crucial to its survival. I know we have all been busy but I hope we can all spare a couple of hours each month to ensure that future generation may have the opportunity to pursue thier dreams. Since our first meeting, monthly meeting have not been high our my priority list, my apologies, but having closely followed the political world over the last several months has made me realize that action is now a requirement for the survival of our Republic. Will use this site to publish the time and location of each month's meeting until I can figure out how to contact each one of you personally by email. Hope to see all of you there and feel free to bring anyone you wish. With the assurance of my gratitude for your participation and dedication to our cause-----Thomas Hansen
